What's North Korea's Deal?

Postby AToMIC » Thu Aug 03, 2017 12:45 pm

Is anyone getting kind of tired of hearing in the News "North Korea threatens US with Nuclear Strike" over and over again? I don't think a day has gone by where I haven't seen something like that on the news, facebook, or anywhere in general. I feel like North Korea is just all talk in my opinion, especially their leader, Kim Jong Un. And I know for a fact I won't be offending any user here with what I said, because North Korea gives a very small amount of internet access to their people, and I doubt they'll use that internet to browse Mario forums. What do you guys think about this whole situation?

I'm getting tire of hearing that as well, can't someone (Possibly South Korea) just put an end to North Korea so we can have other news to view?

The better question is, why can't the news just stop being negative all the time? Yeah, sure there's that argument that bad news is "more exciting" but it can really give
you a bad impression on the world if that's all they talk about.

It has been stated numerous times by the U.S.'s DoD that North Korea does not possess reliable nuclear weaponry, and even if they did, they would not be capable of striking the U.S. with it. They do have possession of ICBMs that can supposedly target as far as Alaska, but several people have stated that they're a long ways from making functional nuclear warheads. Furthermore, if they did target the U.S., our missile defense exceeds technology that North Korea would typically be able to surpass, so unless they came across some bizarre tech that could, we don't have to worry about anything.

I'd suggest considering the negative side effects of having a war with North Korea before advocating anything of the sort.

I'd like to add to this that there are a lot of negative side effects, including damaging relations with China and potentially Russia, as well as giving the U.S. a muddled reputation in the UN for aggressive behavior. If North Korea were to initiate the first strike, there would most definitely be a war to ensue, and given the way things are escalating recently, that doesn't seem too far off.

It's the news, what do you expect? Even they know they're wrong, but it's not about being right, it's about getting views.

South Korea needs help and that is what the us is giving them but we need china to go against North Korea but they refuse because they are allies.

An extremely common thing between dictators is believing they are better than others, as we know. But something not everyone knows is that most dictators also have paranoia, and this many times leads them to do things like declaring war. It is the case for the north korea dictator. He believes everything is against him

I think we must LIBERATE north korea from kim jong-shitter un for it population to finally see the real world, with cars, Ipods and everything that is forbidden in north korea, cuz throwing a nuke will just kill everyone.

Reminds me of when one web video said North Korea was the equivalent of a talkative Counter Strike player. Boy has that joke gone completely relevant now.

Did you listen/read the fact that there would be MAJOR drawbacks to doing that?

It's not that the US and its allies couldn't defeat North Korea, but rather that it would come at too great a cost to both Korean citizens and everyone else. There's little question that North Korea could wipe Seoul off the map if they wanted to with their nuclear weapons, although they haven't and probably won't since it would lead to their immediate destruction as a nation. But just because the rest of the world could cause North Korea to lose, doesn't mean that the rest of the world would really come out on top either.

I am just shocked that everyone are alway saying that how it was horrible in the past, and how it was terrible for people cuz of nazis and soviets, and that hopefully it is over, but north korea is doing the same shit and no one honestly really gives a fuck! There is a BUNCH OF HUMANS CAPTIVE IN THIS HORRIBLE COUNTRY, BUT WE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE A SINGLE SHIT ABOUT THEM! HUMANS BEINGNS, not animals, humans beings! Did you heard the story of that girl that escaped to south korea by travelling with her family on a frozen lake? She needed to EAT her own bunny one winter day because the food supplies were unsufficients! No humans deserves this.

Plus nuclear weapons have advanced so much scene Hiroshima and Nakasaki The us nuclear weapons would level North Korea probably a large part of South Korea parts of China and maybe some other countries we don't really know the full power of the us nukes. And nuking North Korea and parts of China will piss china off and probably Russia to and this is not 100% but possibly start WW3 and that would definitely not be good because

Don't you think we would have done something by now the Communist had nukes and so did the Americans but we had a chance to communicate with them because any further conflict would have resulted in most of the world dieing. The only reason the us went to WW2 was to fight of Japan not the nazi the us could have simply rekt the nazis at that time is was mainly the UK and the Soviet Union that were against the nazis. There no clear way to stop North Korea.

Uh, literally everyone cares about the fact that North Korea commits human rights violations every day. Nobody "doesn't give a fuck", everyone gives a fuck.

This is the point where I tell you to grow up and take some time to research the topic before you delve into it, because I'm noticing a large amount of ignorance coming from you. You can't just easily "wipe out North Korea" because that would involve being an initiator and aggressor of war (which is frowned upon by the UN), using up the resources required to head into a war, sacrificing the lives of our own soldiers to go to war, and ensuring that no war crimes are committed such as the deaths of thousands of innocent people. This would also, as I have already explained, greatly diminish our reputation with superpowers that are more or less allies with North Korea (such as China and potentially Russia), which is something the U.S. does not need to do.
You can't just say "well I don't like this country because of their morals" and wipe them out. It doesn't matter if they do some of the worst things to their civilians, you can't just wipe out a country like that. Look at the Middle East as an example, especially around the Iraq and Afghanistan war, and see where that got us. Yes, they put in place horrible laws against women, and the terrorist groups seem to reign supreme there, but if you want to put it into a perspective, the terrorist groups were never a major issue for the U.S. until we invaded.

So wait, I am ignorant for being shocked of what is happening in north korea?! Oh, ok, I mean, why not? And when you say "It doesn't matter if they do some of the worst things to their civilians", we can imagine the worst things imaginables, (that I won't describes for not to be banned), but apperently, naaaaah, citizens don't need to be liberated belong to you.

Also; I NEVER mentionned an army deployment, I simply said that citizens needed to be liberated, and their is many way rather then a war. You can only blame yourself if you were imaginating a war like the one in irak. :|

It's a MAD world. The US went into Iraq accusing Saddam Hussein of having WMDs, he didn't and he was overthrown and then executed. In Libya, Gaddafi didn't want anything to do with that so he overturned his chemical weapons. Gaffafi was overthrown anyway and sodomized with a knife. Iran and North Korea see this and it's no wonder why North Korea would give Iran nuclear material and North Korea would hold onto their weapons. Donald Trump was really onto something by wanting to sit down with Kim Jong Un face-to-face - should be an international tribunal, not just the two of them - but it seems his advisors are too guided by the beauty of our weapons™.
