These look pretty decent even though they are 1x1 pixels and they stand out a bit

Actually, I guess the fact that it is 1x1 pixel isn't really a problem since it wasn't intended to be mario.

I like how the tileset and the background work together. It reminds me of Seiklus and some other old indie platformer games. There is just enough shading to make the objects stand out.
