CDI Mario Sprite (WIP)

Postby HackPlayer7 » Tue Apr 18, 2017 3:43 pm

I decided to do something I have never done before which is to create a playable. Finding an idea for a original playable is a lot more easier than finding an idea for a tileset. Unfortunately, I have no creating skills. I only know how to recolor and rip, which is exactly what I did with the CD-I Mario.

Surprisingly, nobody has done this yet so I guess it makes this more unique. I still have to fix the random chunks of sprites vanishing or popping up before this becomes complete. :|

Why is it so deformed?

The sprites were stretched to fit Mario size, otherwise the sprites would be smaller than the hitbox.
Sadly, I don't know how to change a hitbox

It's really easy to change the hitbox and sprite offsets of players - you can use the PGE calibrator tool (In 2.0, it's in data -> PGE). It may say that sprite offsets will not be applied in SMBX, but if it does you can ignore it because it does work (it just didn't when the tool was made).

lol, i didn't use the PGE Calibrator on my SMB Mario Sprite and it looks fine, im fairly sure that no one would notice as if you look at the mario on the CDI and then look at this, they look almost simular, they are both pretty deformed

No offense, but the sprite doesn't look good, and look super wierd cuz of the mash of difformed streched pixels.

Hope it get better, cuz the main idea is nice and original.

It looks alright for something someone was trying to stay inside the hotbox

Thank you all for your opinion but really, there's nothing I can do.
The original sprite is way too small to leave it like that, so it will stay deformed instead of a mini mushroom Mario.
