Even without the possible extension, "only a week" is still 1/6 of the total signup phase and more than enough time to make a level.

we are considering adding a week or two since a lot of people have time conflicts and would otherwise be able to participate. share your thoughts!

Definitely need an extension while not even being sure then if I can commit enough to it. Writing a scientifical article with scientifical style sucks.

I have a question, why exactly do you keep extending the deadline?

This is the first and only extension. It was made because, in retrospect, the contest started at an unfortunate time and many people who want to participate have a lot of other stuff going on and we want to give them a chance to finish their levels.

Wasn't the deadline originally April 1st but was extended because of an agreement that official contests should last 6 weeks?

Overall it makes sense considering that many people are lagging behind.

Can you still submit the level if it only works with SMBX 1.3.0.2?
SMBX 2.0 tester doesn't work for me, so I don't know if my level works with that version.

If it works in 1.3.0.2 it'll be compatible with 2.0 so don't worry; it'll be fine

What if the level uses dummy blocks/BGOs/NPCs that are used in 2.0 for new NPCs?

Good luck to the both of you. Can't wait to see how your levels look when I come to review them.

The judges will probably be using SMBX 2.0 to judge, so it does not matter if the user made his level in SMBX 1.3.1, SMBX 1.3.2 or SMBX 2.0.
The only thing that can become impossible is to test a level from a higher version in some of the other lower versions.
