M37: Peak Oil, 200 Years Too Soon - Town Wins

The popular forum game that separates the good from the bad, the strong from the weak, and the loose-cannon cops from the slightly schizophrenic. That's all after we figure out who's who, of course.

NIGHT 1 has ended!

The townspeople woke up to find that notorious gunslinger Danny was lying dead in the middle of the town square.
Danny has died!
The office of Doc Fesstival issued an autopsy, identifying him as townsperson Lester the Kid!

PixelPest was also found dead, his head stuck on a pike outside the sheriff's office, perhaps as a threat or a symbol of vigilante justice...
PixelPest has died!
The office of Doc Fesstival issued an autopsy, identifying him as townsperson Frank Strange!

It is now DAY 1! Day 1 will end around 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, March 28, or earlier if there are enough votes for an insta.

edit: also, a player asked me what PMs Mr. Skull inspects exactly: I'm gonna say he can see any PMs sent to the target during the night, including those by other players.

Part of me says the doctor should always protect Danny on N1. I legitimately feel bad for the guy lol

I see that two townies died. This is not looking so good. Does targeting a green help get the Third Party, or should we focus on reds first? The Godfather/Bartender like role may be a bit of an issue as well.

Well, reds have more power so we should focus on them.

Yeah that is the main thing I see. Also, the Third Party being green makes is concerning. I hope the Doc does not retire until the Third Party goes down and hopefully the Bartender.

I don't think Doc will retire though. It's kind of a stupid mechanic if you think about it. Why would you want to get rid of your ability anyways? it's not like Doc gets anything in return for it.

It's also not the greatest idea for the doc to claim for the blue alliance that almost always happens.

well, let's take a look over the first days in recent games. (tl;dr it's often the case but you can't make this bold assumption because even if noone screws up, there may be a good incentive to lynch some day 1, depending on the game)

M36 reroll: no lynch, all that could be done was the sheriff confirming Jacob's role
M36: no lynch was supposed to happen at first until Yoshi screwed up

M35: all day was spent determining that Pseudo was frozen. Blue alliance was set up but infiltrated by witchking and ripped apart later.

M34: Everyone screwed up on lynching Mechdragon where he appeared fairly trustworthy.

M33: I did the mistake of requesting a blue alliance as a townie, and the caroler's song (which turned out to be faked) put both me and TNT under suspicion, and TNT was lynched after some heated arguing

M32: People told themselves what happened to them Night 1 but no lynch.

M31: ZM was given away straight due to his nightkill immunity being revealed.

M30: I screwed up due to overzeal and not having been fully clarified with the rules.

M29: yeah no lynch

M28: Nato claimed doctor and TheDinoKing tried to vote him off (but was too late), causing his own downfall next day
(TheDinoKing, should you read this, try to think about your actions and pls be more active than you were at M27-M29).

M27: can't even tell all that happened due to 8flight's overzealous play and the tempers boiling over. 300+ posts within only one phase.

M26: confusion and shouting about doing a blue alliance happened there as well, 8flight was innocently lynched after 12 pages, and also Jacob fell for the Voodoo Lady.

how about all blues claiming to Mega? He claimed immediately and noone counterclaimed him. He seems trustworthy.

Two townies dead... That's not good at all but as witchking mentioned and others agreed above, it's fortunate that they weren't blues... Let's hope the 3rd party kills a mafia member tonight.
Also, I like the idea of claiming to Megar.
Also, I think Doc should claim to Megar as well and then Megar could inform the Time Cop (if he claimed to him) and tell him to inspect them. The doctor protecting Megar and Sheriff Westin revealing himself to him is also something that I'd recommend.
Any other ideas for the night?

I'm game if you all want me as a middle man for a blue alliance, but we need to do it before a target is made of me.

I was originally against the idea of the blues claiming to Megar, but then I realized that it is actually logical since Townies are named.

Still though, I'd wait a little longer for counterclaims. If anyone received the Vinny role, please speak now.

Problem is, Megar is probably gonna be dead by night 2, as Mafia or TP may see him as a problem, as he is required for the alliance to happen. So I highly recommend the doctor to protect him. Now, if blues start dying at the next nights (I mean, if blues die night 2, 3, 4, forward) Megar should be highly suspected. And finally, if a blue dies night 2, please don't lynch him. It could easily be mafia(Or TP)'s luck, and then we lose a townie for nothing. I will believe in Megar's claim because no one counterclaimed until now. If anyone got Vinny, I highly recommend that you counterclaim now.
Oh, and if someone counterclaims, don't lynch Megar, because the counterclaimer could also be a mafia(Even though this person would be really stupid if he or she did that).
