Japanese SMBX Contest Entries

Postby litchh » Fri Mar 17, 2017 11:43 am

Since mine levels has been judged already, I present them now.
Though, all levels can be played without lunalua and compatible with 1.3, I recommend play them in 2.0 or at least in 1.3.0.2 versions.

Random Grassland is so Random
Spoiler: show
Level with ranndomize, lol. On the 1-st section it has different parts, which are absent at start and appear randomly as you progress.
2-nd section has no randomize effect, it's just finish of level.

Starts random from here:
Image

Download
Urban Ping (as you can see)
Spoiler: show
Level with platforms, spikes (not obstacles) and 2 stars in.
True sound effects is only on 2.0

Image

Download
Deflation
Spoiler: show
And now the most epic.
It's time to be serious, because this is Last Word by Sakuya Izayoi.
Level by itself is even harder though.

Here another bunch of levels:

An Afternoon Generic Level
Spoiler: show
Generic, linear and flat Grand Extravaganza level.
Basically there are moving platforms, spinies and hammer bros.
And something sudden also can be founded.
In the rest this is standart SMB1 styled level.

Image

Download
Cheesy Beach
Spoiler: show
Created for SMW Styled Level Contest.
As title says, it's SMW styled beach. Some atletic parts included.
I added custom music post factum, because it's against contest rules.
But I also left older version as I submitted if you prefer.

Image

Last Version

Old Version
Ripoff;Galaxy
Spoiler: show
Instant Winner of Outer Space Contest!
I really had lack of ideas for this contest except very cool one, but this is prohibited by contest rules.
I took concept of the level from the very first stage of New Super Mario Galaxy X and recreated it in advanced way.
However it has a different structure and NPC assortment, also bonus star presents in.

How to finish cool hills? In tob1, they were no apparent exits.

You can exit through the bottom. It costs one life.
However it's not relevant to this thread.

What's more important, I updated level Sky of the Proud
Because I test my levels in Legacy Editor usually, I didn't notice, that transparent liquids look like piss in SMBX 2.0, so I includeded *.png files in.

That's how it looks:
Spoiler: show

I also improved fireball sounds for cacodemons. Now it's stand alone of common "Big Fireball". I did it, because player may cause this sound using Yoshi to spit fire. Though this level doesn't include any Yoshis, better to determine things like this.

What do you mean ``not relevant to the thread``? It is a question about a level in a thread featuring this level. Hard to find something more releveant. :|

It would be more convenient for the people if you put your levels in the OP.

Nope. Because the level featuring in this thread is Very Cool Hills from CC4 ;)
Before CC4 I was creating levels for my 1st episode only.

I thought about this, but there are limitations for post size which I would surely outreach soon, if not now.

Goomby Grasslands

Postby litchh » Sun Jul 30, 2017 9:16 am

Created for Make A Good Bad Level Contest (name has been changed)
According to its point I had to improve current level (by Ethereality) & keep its similarity at that.
It was really challenge for me, because I was between contradicting objectives.
Nevertheless I changed theme a bit. So it's goomba themed level.
A lot of goombas' types awaits ;)

Maybe you should credit Ethereality for using his level as a base for that unless you recreated that from scratch.

Maybe :)
At least I got a challenge from him.

Yep, that's Heatman by himself.
Level has some clashing NPCs though
Unfortunately I failed with creating telly, so they are absent :(
This version has fixed effect for ice cube and BGOs missing in contest version.
I also increased HP bonus drop rate from mets and pickelmen a bit.
SMBX 2.0 Beta 3 required, of course.

litchh, some of your levels look cool, but 1, in some of your levels, dont steal textures, and stop double posting, so many of your posts were double posts

This was unnecessary to say. Graphic rips and using provided custom graphics from the forums =/= stealing textures.

Fusion;Crossroads

Postby litchh » Thu May 10, 2018 12:50 pm

All-Stars Level Contest Entry.
If you played Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, then you may easily guess about concept of this level.
Yeah, it's crossover themed level with lots of crossroads - transitions between various themes of the various games. Accordingly there are lot of different NPCs. Level is compatible with non-lunalua version of SMBX, so I technically couldn't place more Waddle Doos or Crabmeats, because of event cap (I used all btw). Anyway, I did a huge work of it, background is mine most proud here :3

Where's underground part, you may ask? Welp, it stayed in Cntrhammer.
As for overworld part - that's here :D

Koopa Troopa Liberation (updated shells)

Postby litchh » Fri Jun 14, 2019 4:19 pm

If you played Mario Forever, you might remember same named level.
This version of level includes koopas throwing shells, which rebound from the ground once (works in versions from 1.3.0.2 to SMBX2 MAGLX3 otherwise it's like usual hammer)

Is it heavier then 1.3.0.1? Cuz I can replace it as a bonus to play luna lua levels
