Woow it looks pawsome! Great job! Is that a castle tileset or a factory tileset?

Yes, it's starting to look better, you still have a long way to go, though. I'll keep an eye for any updates, so make sure to post them. ;)

The skull thing, hammerbro and lakitu thing and the door still have 1x1 pixels, but otherwise, you're doing great! Keep it up!

If you're struggling with 1x1 pixels I recommend you start out by drawing your graphics in 16x16 instead of 32x32 grids and resizing them when you're done.

Thanks! I'm going for both, I always liked the idea of a factory castle. And I chose Bowser Jr. to put in some tiles because he uses allot of machines to fight Mario.

Great to hear! It'll still be getting lots of other tiles and polishing so I may post a couple more times with it.

Those weren't edited when I posted it, by now they're done though. And thanks for the comment!

I won't be having trouble with that anymore, trust me.

That's actually a really nice ant design. But I think it needs a little shading.

The shading makes it look very metallic and flat. Think of the ant as a 3-dimensional insect and think about how light would fall onto and reflect off it.

Work in progress colors as well, what should I add, and which of the fill tiles is in the better direction? I honestly like the solid color more. Still learning while I make this. Merry Christmas Everyone!

I definetly think some shading would be good, but I don't think the non-solid fill looks good. How about a more metallic tileset? And it would be super cool if the different directional arrows had different colors.

Well, my color of inspiration is red, grey, black, and whiten I am going for a Steel/Wood look. Thanks for the Fred back. My friends said the terrible dithered fill looked better.

Some random stuff I made to practice. The shading looks like shit (mostly because I messed it up by mixing two different shading techniques) and the textures on the grass tileset are horrible, but at least I tried...

I think the striped fill looks much better! You should probably use that, altough I don't think you should have it on the arrows, as it makes them harder to see.

A concept for a new enemy, which at this point is simply called "Bricky".

Image

So Bricky, is kind of like a Mega Mole, he'll give you a ride, but getting hit by him will cost you. Bricky is quite a dynamic enemy which can take on many forms. While Bricky is usually seen as the top left sprite, he can have as many or as little body sections, generally between 1 and 6. He can also use surrounding blocks to become stronger. By equipping himself with spikes, he cannot be jumped on. He can also be found to have randomly stacked blocks on top of him, thus making him harder to bypass. This could also be used to your own advantage in certain areas. At times, you'll only find a Bricky "head" attached to walls. Jumping on his head will allow you to bounce, however, wall-based Brickys have a habit of firing pellets at you so be careful.

Bricky is set to appear only in the levels of the "Toy Dream" (aka. Toy themed world) and a bigger version (yet to be named) will appear as a Boss.
