Tadaaa, this is my official second SMBX project! It's currently in final beta-testing stages before fixing some last minute bugs. Development started in September 2016. There will be 6 worlds in total, each consisting of 7 main levels, a secret house and a separate boss encounter (some levels will have mini-boss fights in them). There will also be a main hub area as well as a final level, which will be unlocked once all other levels have been passed.
Players have the freedom to choose which world to start with and can complete the main levels in any order they like. At the end of each level, there is a star to be collected and a special room in the hub area allows you to see if you have collected that star or not. THE STORY:
The plot picks up directly from where my previous episode "A Kingdom at War" ends. Mario and Luigi, alongside their new ally Bombette, race to rescue Princess Peach from an evil entity. To reach their goal, however, they need to defeat six different Gatekeepers, each of them guarding a special Gate. Will our heroes manage to get to the Princess on time?...

Not too sure about the rain in screenshot 5, looks a bit unrealistic.
Does this project use 2.0 or lunalua?
Hi there! I'm afraid that's the best rain effect that I managed to find Make sure to watch my playthrough of the whole level at the link provided to see the rest of the rain mechanics.
I'm using SMBX Level editor version 1.3. Do you know if it's massively different from the 2.0 version?

SMBX 2.0 has a new editor and new elements exclusive to it. That includes new characters such as Klonoa and Snake. It also comes with LunaLUA, a coding language used by many people.
Shadow_Flame wrote:Ah, I see, thanks for clarifying So would people be able to play something that I've created on Level Editor 1.3 on the 2.0 version?
RhysOwens wrote:Why did you skip working on Mount Rekki and moved to World 3 and 4?
It's funny actually because at the start of the project I created a few levels in a random order and 2 of them were from Worlds 3 and 4 - the sandship and the airship levels. I simply had a clear vision about them in my mind and wanted to get them done while I still had their design fresh in my memory. I then started focusing purely on World 1 and completed it in a month or so. I hope this makes sense Did you manage to play the demo? If so, I'd love to hear your feedback on it.
Hey, ShadowFlame. If this is anything like your previous episode, I'll probably enjoy it. I guess I'm going to download the demo and give you a few tips.

Hi, mariogeek2. Great, thanks! Any feedback would be welcome as I'm trying to make this better than my previous episode
Hmmm.... World 1 and it is 100+ MB? I think I'll try it out and see what did you put in there when I have the time and Internet too. Seems interesting in my opinion.
The screens look really interesting, Shadow_Flame. A little note, in the fifth one from above I guess you can remove the lower waterfall right to the toad house and just leave a pit.
The episode looks very good so far. I think the hub should have more scenery though. Is this episode inspired by Luigi's fight for the Mushroom Kingdom?

Hi Supershroom, thanks for liking the screenshots! In terms of your tip, the water is actually falling down into the river below in this level, so it's not an abyss. Here's the screenshot to prove it:

Hiya, thanks for the feedback! This is not the final version of the hub anyway and I imagine that you've already noticed that the tutorial in it is still in progress. To be honest, I don't think that I've been inspired by any particular SMBX episode, it's more a mix of various old-school games
I have now included screenshots from World 2 in the project description! If there are people who would be interested in beta testing World 2, let me know by private message.
I really like this project, especially because the levels are fun and creatives ( My opinion is based in the video). I like the elements that you have added and the creative "way" that you have used. The graphics are good too ( I can see some errors, like cut-offs, but isn't a big problem and is easy to fix them). I like the music choose too. This seems interesting!
