Hey guys, it's been a while, huh? I've given this comic series a shot several times, but never did the stars align as they have now. In the past, Cloud's Forum Adventures (which is also known as DreamBound) has suffered from many problems: lackluster characters without personality, storylines that progress too fast, "empty" dialogue that lacks meaning", and the like. I've had months and months to think things through, and now, I have corrected all of these problems. Characters now have defined personalities, the story now is deeper than ever and progresses at a nicer rate, and the dialogue is now much more indicative of a character's personality. CFA is also known for its unique and clean art style, which I am sure to keep up with this new saga. Before we start with the episodes, we're going to go over some general series information - if you want to cut right to the episodes, scroll to the end of this post instead.
Basic Series Outline:
Cloud's Forum Adventures has been running since 2014, with over 120 episodes available, and is unique in that each of its characters are loosely based on forum users. They all have vastly different personalities, and live in an original world that's been in my head since early 2012. To make things a bit simpler to draw, most of the characters take the appearance of kirbies (they can't fly, inhale, swallow, or use copy abilities - it's just an aesthetic "base" that makes things easier for me), but other than that, all of the characters, places, and story events are completely original. The main three protagonists live in a ball-shaped Observatory that orbits a planet called Estrella. They aren't really cut out for fighting or defending their world at all, as you'll learn, but when a dark army led by a maniacal child reveals its plan to awaken an ancient evil, the Observatarians are forced into action. In the series, you can expect bad puns, villains that are actually likable, battles that are a bit too intense (but usually end up in a curbstomp), and "deep lore". Now then, let's go over the main characters.
Characters:
Cloud
One of the three main protagonists, and the founder of the Observatory. In contrast to his position of power, he cares deeply about others, and puts their needs before his own - even if this means throwing caution and common sense to the wind. He will do anything to protect those he loves, risking his life if necessary. Unfortunately, while he has the best of intentions, he secretly lacks the confidence and self-esteem to be a good leader, and constantly second-guesses himself. Despite his generally content appearance, on the inside, he is dissatisfied with life, and wishes to find something or some
one that can make him truly happy.
Switch
Innovative, efficient, and hard-working, Switch is Cloud’s best friend and the co-founder of the Observatory. He’s responsible for its daily upkeep, and constantly thinks of new ways to improve the daily lives of his friends. Though he’s said to be a bit eccentric at times, he can proficiently communicate with others, which makes him an overall well-rounded individual. Nowadays, he’s busy working his big-league job at Cosmic Enterprises, a company that specializes in robotics. Switch is sure to spend what little free time he has with Cloud and Megar.
Megar
As his stylish blue scarf might imply, Megar is a confident, outgoing individual who follows no rules but his own. He’s infamous among his friends for cracking bad jokes, puns, and insults at all the wrong times, with no real regard for the feelings of others. Though he’s hasty and impatient to the point of being delusional at times, he always manages to pull through for his friends.
Spectra
A mysterious girl who does not appear to be from this world...but, at the same time, seems to be crucial to its existence. Spectra possesses incredible powers far beyond belief, and is said to be one of the most powerful living beings in the known universe. Somehow, in spite of her power, she's nervous and shy around just about
everyone, but no one knows why. She generally doesn't take the time to think things through, and relies on her first instinct.
Alright, with all that out of the way, it's time for the good stuff: episodes! I try to roll them out as often as I possibly can, but they take a
long time to make. Between working out the complex storyline, getting each line of dialogue just right, and drawing each panel and expression perfectly, creating each episode definitely requires a lot of effort. Comments are much appreciated, and might even help to shorten the gap between new episodes, etc...now, without further ado, here are the episodes!
