Screenshots locked

Is there any way to save screenshots as PNGs instead of bitmaps? I can't resave them as PNGs since they're locked.

No. They automatically save as BMP files. I think you can just convert them using a converter on the internet into PNG files and play it from there.

I tried using one on my computer (both MS Paint and Adobe Fireworks) and I got an error saying that the file can't be edited.

What castlewars said, all you can do is to resave the BMPs as PNGs. You'll somehow have to unlock the screenshots, sorry. So far, there's no way to save screenshots as JPGs or PNGs; but if I remember correctly, it's a planned feature for SMBX 1.3.0.2.

Did you install SMBX to C:\SMBX? That usually causes problems with editing files; try installing SMBX in C:\Program Files (x86)\SMBX instead.

I installed it to a folder I made for stuff like this: Documents\Emu thumbdrive backup\Super Mario Bros. X\(insert stuff here).

I see... In that folder, there should be no issues.
Have you tried copying the screenshots to your desktop and making them PNGs there?
