Where to start with LunaLua?

Postby RPG_Magician » Mon Sep 26, 2016 12:47 am

So I've considered attempting to use LunaLua for a upcoming project little try. And by looking through the forums. I've been confused on where to start.

Can someone give me a heads up on where to begin?

(I'm probably missing the obvious or something)

I'm with you here. . . I know it's used to add custom code into levels to make them like "not vanilla", but I don't know how to do that sort of coding or (as you said) where to begin with it.

(I moved your thread to the LunaLua subforum)

If you wanna get started with LunaLua, I'd definitely recommend those videos for starting out (kinda outdated but still mostly valid). For further tutorials in Lua (which is the language LunaLua uses) check this out.
If you need further help with LunaLua's functions etc., check out this.
If you have any questions, there's a help thread in this subforum. If you want to I can also send you an invite to the LunaLua Discord channel (if you don't know what Discord is, it's essentially a better Skype) where you can get help quicker.

Umm thanks for moving it.

I guess the tutorial videos are helpful, but it showcases a program that I currently don't have and is not mentioned in the video. (looks like another SMBX editor.)

That's PGE. You actually have to download LunaLua (and I think PGE comes with it)

That's weird. I downloaded LunaLua from the WohlSoft website and It didn't come with PGE. (It DID come with the same smbx editor of 1.3.0.1)

Ah. May be mistaken then. Well, PGE is a level editor, so in the video it really has no effect on the Lua scripts
