Well, I had to repost this due to the old forum getting archived, but worry not, the project is still alive and well.
Anyway, welcome to my cool little smb3 styled project. It is will be a pretty standard episode with regular mario gameplay.
I am trying to keep all the levels as original and independent as possible, including a gimmick or an original thingy in nearly all levels.
And i will try not to pretty much have a series of regular grasslevels, Instead I vary the level themes and settings in each level and refrain from blatant recycling.
I will make most to all of the tilesets in this episode myself, which is why it has been awhile since I posted a new screen. Im kinda overhauling all the older levels with my tilesets. But lets go on with the actual interesting stuff now.

Plot
this story started when something terrible was found, The orb of primal fear, an ancient artifact of evil nature with unlimited power that could control bodies, enslave minds and brings everyones worst fears to life, and now its in bowsers hands! The latter obvious isn't up to anything good, so Mario and Luigi will have to reclaim the orb and destroy it.

Worlds:

World 1: Grassy Fields.
The first world is mostly Grassland themed, with some forest levels and a beach level too.
It will have 7 normal levels, a secret one, and a castle too.

World 2: Dry Dry Dunes.
A desolate desert with canyons, dunes and even an entire island made of sandy cheese.
It will have 6 normal levels, a cavern, a secret level, and a castle.

World 3: Autumn Area.
A forest in the middle of fall, with athmospheric autumn forest and grassland levels, and even a halloween level or two.
It contains 6 normal levels, a ghost house, a castle and a secret level, its my personal favorite world.

World 4: Cloud Piercing Peaks.
A mountain chain reaching so high, they are piericng the clouds, creating a crossbreed of a mountain world and a sky one.
It has 5 normal levels, a ghost house, a castle and a secret sky tower (not shown on the worldmap screenshots.

World 5: Burning tide.
As usual, Bowser's lair is build inside of an active volcano. The searing land with it's burning tide is home to hundreds of army batalions.
It will have 5 normal levels, A tank level, A secret level, And two levels set in Bowser's castle.

World 6: Realm of Primal Fear.
The final world of the game (excluding the secrets) is sent in an unstable, parallel universe of the mushroom world.
Except it's corrupted and dead and hostile in almost every way. It will have an unknown amount of corrupted earlier levels, My CC12 entry, and the final level of course!

There are also three secret worlds in the game, which are shown in the map screens and themed after Space, Ice and Giant. However the number of levels is too undetermined to add them here yet.

Now it's actually transparent, which I think looks nicer than a white background!

For the project itself, It looks really cool! I've never seen a level based on corn before, and that worldmap looks cool aswell! I'm wishing you and your team good luck on this!

Thanks for the nice words.
Also, the logo has a white background because I want to make a background, but never got to it. Also, to my knowledge no one ever made a cornfield in smbx.

I'm wondering how come all the screenshots look the same except with different graphics. I'm not really seeing anything interesting to look forward to when this project is released. Maybe it's because all the screenshots are of the beginning of the levels, but it doesn't really make for a very convincing display of fun levels.

I don't think every single screenshot looks like the same level with different graphics, but I agree a lot of it lacks innovation.

Also I really like how the continent map is built but the sand tiles look very strange. They look too artificial and don't fit with the rest of the graphics. The grass tiles also don't loop properly but that's a minor nitpick.

He just changed all the screenshots when I made that post. These ones are much better since they show off more interesting parts of the levels.

I changed the screenshots on this project to be 300x400, so I can place more of them without covering six screens worth of screenshots.

The square isn't permanent though. Its there because the level under it is a contest entry.

I'm definitely looking forward to this SMBX project right here. I love the world map design and as of how those level screenshot goes, everything looks very interesting so far. Keep it up!
