So, what's up with Peach getting kidnapped countless times again when games like Super Princess Peach and Super Mario 3D World (and of course the Smash Bros series) have shown that she is clearly able to defend herself against Bowser?

I'm calling for more equality in Mario games. There's enough male characters by now that are just as "fragile" as Peach. Why don't they get kidnapped more often? What about Luigi? He can barely hold up against a boo without completely freaking out.

I'm convinced that sexism is not what Mario is intended to be about, therefore there need to be more male characters getting kidnapped, as well as more female playable characters.

That's another issue with the Mario games. It's been stated over and over that Toads are asexual, and it just so happens all of them are weaklings who do nothing but get captured by Bowser. Not only do the Mario games portray women as weak, but asexuals as well.

Okay I'll bite, but just for a sec. I don't know if this is ever going to be a serious thread. My body says no but the nostradamus in the centre of my hippo campus says no. Anyway ignore me if it isn't. I'll be short. Peach isn't really fragile, is she? I'm not sure that trope is ongoing anymore, but even so, Mario games fall prey to repetition. The game's surrounding context makes it maybe forgivable. It's still worth talking about outside of the "this game is sexist because it has X thing in it" argument, but I just don't buy that part. I'm still open to future changes though. Wouldn't bother me at all to see a GOOD Super Princess Peach. Peach and Daisy co-op could be fun too.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the blatant turtlism presented in all the Mario games by portraying turtles as bad guys. I mean, come on, Nintendo! It's 2016! They're the only 2 female enemies. Literally every other enemy, in the official games, are male.
