Yeah this definitely matches up with what I've seen and heard.
Oh, I'm also in London, by the way, which is very much a pro-EU region.

This also kind of really sucks for Canada, since half of the money made off of Canadian exports to Europe are those going to the UK. At the moment, it seems like this trade might possibly be continued, however who knows what'll end up happening

I'm just looking at the median age of people voting to leave. 65+ is where it gets most favourable for leaving, but the median age of that is 73. People born during the latter half of WWII are likely not to have fought in it.

And yeah, people may be blaming the older generation but even among the generation splits it's not like the votes were unanimous.

Actually this whole thing wasn't even close a unanimous decision. Not that that's how democracy works, and I don't know if I'd be able to pull off a better solution than to just go with the majority vote, but it's noteworthy.

Yeah, Britain basically already recovered from the initial economic "shock," and meanwhile the people saying the leaving was isolationist are saying the European Union is right to be hard on the UK and not be open to trade deals with them, but even Merkel can see that would just harm the EU more than it would the UK. Everyone (maybe not Japan) is saying they will still trade with the UK, so it's just countries in the EU that are shitting the bed with no trade deals that will be losing out. Once the remaining eurosceptic parties get into power, the EU may not survive through the 2020s and everyone will be better off.
