Leafy (Drama Alert!)

Ok, I'm sure a few of you know who this guy is.

He's a youtuber, and basically his video layout consists of playing some sort of fast paced game (like CS:GO, kind of racetrack looking games) and commenting over some highly cringy video. He checks out one video (lately it's been two) and criticizes the person(s) in the video and usually ends up roasting them in his side comments. What makes him so crazy is his very premise, shitting on cringy videos. He's so far made enemies with SJWs and KKK members alike, while maintaining a horribly rude fanbase. And yes, he himself is kind of a dick too. Ok, not just KINDA, he's DEFINITELY a dick.
He criticizes many different awful but smaller youtubers and also tends to shit on cyberbullying videos too.

Quite honestly, I find him absolutely hilarious and agree with nearly everything he says, but every now and then he steps across the line and usually right afterwards he acknowledges it. So yeah, he knows he's a dick and he takes full advantage of it.

I really hate that guy; he adds absolutely nothing to the community except discouragement. I mean, first off, he does actually attack those who cannot mentally cope with being bullied (those with autism, for example). Second off, while there is the rule of free speech, there is a law against hate speech and I feel that it's just a matter of time before he gets banned. I get that he doesn't actually say "I hate <group>" or anything like that, but his constant lack of any actual content is so stupid. His channel is nothing but reaction videos (I'm surprised nobody has attacked him for using other's videos in his own), and he doesn't have anything original to say except jokes regarding bleach, cancer, and suicide. Seriously, I have yet to hear any legitimate reason for this guy to still be around. I really hope that Youtube will finally attack those like leafy who actually need to be moderated and stop going after innocent Youtubers who unwittingly use copyrighted material in their own videos.

His fans are cancer. The thing that kicked off a bunch of drama in the YT scene was when Leafy made fun of yet another autist, and then his viewers went over to his channel and left a bunch of hate to where he felt depressed and stopped uploading. The thing about it though is that this has been a common thing before with Leafy doing nothing about his audience until h3h3 got onto him about it.

This isn't an appropriate comparison. People in office have power. Leafy does not. All he does is speak. And I don't know about AeroMatter, but I would say to just ignore some racist who's spouting the message of the KKK on the street. Simple reason: if you ignore them, you're not giving them attention, and so you're not helping to propagate their views and give them legitimacy.

To elaborate: there are people who have never heard of Leafy. Shocking, I know. I was one of them, and I would still be one of them if it wasn't for the people expressing negativity about him in this thread (which is what caught my attention). Now I know about him, so the chance of me going to watch his videos has increased from 0% to something slightly higher. You have done him a small service by advertising him to me in this way. Now, multiply this by however many people are spreading these kinds of negative remarks and however many people are reading them, and you can see how just keeping your mouth shut instead of going on about how horrible you think he is would have been your best course of action in the long run, assuming that your goal is to prevent his "hate speech", as you call it, from propagating.

Besides, everyone deserves freedom of speech, and that means freedom to express any view, no matter how disgusting it may be.

On Leafy's videos that I have seen in his description related to the subject - "*Please don't go out of your way to "witchhunt" anyone that I have talked about in these videos. This channel's purpose is to entertain people and not to spread hate to anyone else's channels. I have no ill will towards anyone I make videos about.*". I also fail to see in his videos covering Evalion to tell his fans to witchhunt her and report her channel. Because of that, I do not see it as Leafy endorsing his fans to go out and shut down that girl's channel and possible livelyhood.

I will acknowledge though, that some of his fans may have well disregarded the above (you cant really control the fans as they have their own minds and preferences) but id argue that the one who actively calls for someone to be removed from the platform may very well be the one who have commanded the army. Onision was that man.

It was probably both then. Other D list YouTube celebrities like JaclynGlenn also pounced on the situation as well, so it's probably not entirely leafy's fault; but he is still the one with the army in all of this and it wouldn't have happened if he didn't make the video.

Extreme clickbait, jokes about suicide and cancer, recycled content, horrible 14 year old edgy fanbase, the list goes on.

Believe me, I used to like Leafy, but before he started doing reaction videos. He puts a small disclaimer in the description that says not to witchhunt anyone he talks about in his videos, but everyone knows his cancerous fanbase will do it anyways. Leafy reacts to these "cringy" Youtubers, but he himself is cringy. Not only all this, but he sounds like a 12 year old trying to make his voice deeper. I also love how he doesn't once say his content is satire until he got loads of hate over making fun of Tommync2010 (who is actually in a hole of his own at the moment) and h3h3 called him out over how sour his content is. From there he lazily made a 3 minute apology video to save face. Leafy is a lot of the time the whole reason Youtube drama (yes I'm using the taboo phrase "Youtube drama") happens, but he doesn't care as it gets him that YT $$$.

Except all he did was repeat "thank you guys for the support, thank you guys for the support, I really appreciate your guys' support" over and over again. How the hell is that any sort of apology, it's actually disgusting. Dude can't even stop being an idiot for one video. What a joke.

Leafy's format has been here for longer than people think. originally I remember seeing ReviewtechUSA do this, but the difference between him and leafy is that he's actually constructive. while leafy just bullies kids who no better.
Leafy is basically a troll with the fan base of Pewdiepie.
