Wow, this is surprisingly good! There are some parts where it did not feel completely true to how Undertale is played, but it is still very good for Super Mario Bros. X! Good job!
Also very nice techdemo, can't wait to see what other people come up with.
I can't get it to work on my end though. Keeps giving me "attempts to index global 'API', a NIL value"

OMG.... Is... is this real? Is this real life? Can I finnally make an undertale themed episode, with an actual working battle system? This... This.... This can't be real... I'll download this and check for myself, but uh, I think I already heard the idea of a lua-moddable Undertale Engine. *cough* Unitale *cough* Nah, but really, from what I've seen in the video, this is amazing. Just out of curiosity: You'd be fine if someone would use this for their own episode? Of course, while giving you credit for this amazing thing. Hope this post is constructive enough. I'll say something about the actual downloaded files, as soon as I played them!

Ok, played it. AWESOME! Really, I never thought, that was actually possible. However, I've got one problem... I can't attack, because when I try to, I get some weird error message and the level turns into a black screen. Still Awesome! Please make more of this!

Other people already said it, but in case you still have the problem, I used the SMBX 2.O Client at first (also supports lua, that's why) which didn't work, so then I just downloaded the newest version of the normal SMBX LunaLua and (after adding two dlls) it worked perfectly fine. Except for, uh, attacking, that kinda doesn't work for me.

Sorry, forgot to mention the "Super Mariotale X/Intro" is just the folder I wanted to experiment with this awesome thing in. The same error accours in the standard folder.
Hmm, that's strange. Have you edited any of the files?
Well, I copied the files and tried to experiment (only changing "Merio" to "Mario" and changing the items to "Mushroom" and "SuperShroom") but I had the same thing earlier with the original files, before I modded them a little..
