Geez how long has this level been waiting for a review
A Standard Grassland review
Design & Gameplay: Okay
+ This level had an alright difficulty and length. It was really simple and easy, and it was quite short but not too short.
| I relatively enjoyed playing this level, it's kinda fun to go through. The NPC placement is a bit sparser and sometimes a bit more cluttered than it should be but it's not a big problem yet, but the NPC variety in the level is way too low, there are literally only 2 types of enemies: koopas and goombas. There are a bit too many coins in the level though, but at least it's not as spammy as NSMB2 when it comes to the amount of coins.
- Big Mario can easily glitch through the gap leading to the 1-up. It's not a problem if you're small but if you want to make it exclusive for small mario, you should force the player to jump once inside the hole/gap but if you want Big Mario to access it, you should find an other way to get it. Also that goomba at the end is pointless.
Atmosphere & Visuals: Good
+ This level had a relatively good atmosphere, at least in my opinion. It was calm and happy, as usual for grassland levels. I didn't find any cutoffs or clashy graphics, true I found some other bugs which I'll mention later. The music fits the level quite well too.
| The amount of BGOs is alright but you should've had a bigger variety of BGOs. Like 2 or 3 other hill BGOs, smb3 recolored smb1 grass, etc.
- The top-right block in the grass tileset has a broken mask, you should fix it.
Score: 5/10
A decent and calm grassland level which has some major and quite a few minor flaws but still a good fun factor
