Most of the judges didn't get the clue. The statues are supposed to indicate which pipe you should take, it's not random at all. I admit I should've placed a power-up in between the two bosses, I'll take this as a lesson for my next CC level. And ... I'm actually sad, I hoped to beat my previous' level place and got 4 places lower. Well, this happens sometimes. I'll plan my next CC level more carefully.
Good luck to all remaining contestants. MECHDRAGON777 beat me somehow, sigh, but also that means I'm taking no personal graphic requests, yay!
I'm happy with 22nd place for my first CC. The reviews certainly seemed much more polarising than I expected. I was pressed for time with my level; I found out about this CC late and the first copy of the level got corrupted. If I could go back and do it again, I would have fleshed out the concept a lot more. Congratulations to everyone

This occurs within the first 30 seconds of you entering the level, and the fact that you explained almost everything else mkaes the absense of an explanation seem bizarre. Which is a shame as the level is graphically and audially perfect, and there are multiple challenges throughout which are fair and designed in a nonlinear fashion.
I thought it would be a good idea to explain things that are not standard SMBX gameplay. But I guess the block being special in a way that you can't jump on it could have been a a bit misleading. You are simply supposed to grab the block from the side and then kill the piranha with it so that the Goomba blocks become active. As the first Toad that you (hopefully) rescued said, killing any enemies will toggle the Goomba blocks.
One question related to the upcoming episode, are we allowed to send levels that were fixed based on the feedback for the episode or is it meant that the levels appear in the episode the same way they were in the contest?
The reviews are all over the place. :/ Levels that are "fantastic" and "perfect" get 6 points and the points vary from judge to judge like crazy. And really... Mechdragon is still in.

You risk the possibility of the judges finding out you made it considering this very post, so I'd say yes, it is.
Yeah... I'll just make it a non-contest level then. I think somebody said that the next CC would be held over the summer, so I have plenty of time to come up with some crazy new gimmick.
