But their abilities are new. Have you even tried to play with them?
You can't call a mash-up "new". Imagine if Super Smash Bros. characters were to have a mush-up of moves from other previous characters, it's not the same as creating a new character with a new set of abilities. I haven't tried any of them, I have watched a bossedit8's video though and so far I'm not impressed nor consider the "new" characters new at all. I'm still looking forward to using it once it comes out, but so far my expectations aren't being met at all.

I have to agree. I was definitely disappointed when they stole Luigi's double jump bomb drops and Toad's Atomic Fire/Metal Blade and then just added it to new characters as if it was something worth replaying.
In SSB most characters are mash-ups - they all use normal and special attacks, and in newer ones, they have final smashes. They're all like Call of Duty games: the exact same with new textures and models.
This might have been addressed before, but in the beta I have you can't altar the controls. Or at least I couldn't find out how. It says it's in the options menu, but I couldn't even find that. XP

The closest 'new' featuer any character has is Rosalina's ... power star ... state(?) that she gains after collecting enough Star Bits. Is there anything innovative coming out of this brand new editor?
huh? What character has stealth mechanics? What character has a gun that shoots? What character can bomb jump?
Personally, I don't like the way that you enter in an episode directly by the launcher. People who want to play battle game have to waste more time waiting the episode to load, selecting QUIT and then going to battle.
You can put battle levels into your battles folder and play them through Start Game with Battle Game. Then you select your level. Or are you referring to something else?
I think this post was buried by accident, but here goes: Is there any particular reason that warps were easier to expand than other limits? I'm just wondering.

You are obrigated to open an episode, quit it and then open a battle level. You can't enter direct by the launcher.
