Runtime Error 9. Is there a fix?

Postby rckrdan » Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:55 pm

Hello, I'm running smbx 1.3.0.1 and I'm having a problem with runtime error 9. I read this topic http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... php?t=4104 but it doesn't solve my problem. I have 17 events, 13 layers and 68 npcs in section 1 (i didn't add any other sections) .

So is there a way around the error without removing things from my level? Does this also happen in smbx 2.0?

Try to open this in PGE, save it and reload in SMBX again.

RTE 9 most often occurs when 16384 or more blocks are placed within a level.

Then try the solution that @Enjl provided here:
Enjl wrote:RTE 9 most often occurs when 16384 or more blocks are placed within a level.
If that's the case, lower the amount of blocks you have in a level that you have issues with.

Well i tried to solve it but I didn't find out what was causing the problem. It was what Enjl said. All I did was remake the level from scratch (same events & layers) and the error disappeared. :?:
Thank you

Alternatively you could have deleted some pf the blocks while having the level open in PGE. There's an ant icon at the top which will open the debugger and show you how many blocks you have.

Make sure to never cross that limit (16384 blocks), as smbx will always freak out once you have more. There are many techniques to work around this limit which include replacing fill blocks with background objects, large background objects, large blocks or sizeable tiles.
