Yeah, I also discovered this when I was playing Awesome boss rush.
When in this happened too me, I was kinda confused about what happened.
I think there is this one frame where Mario is vulnerable so if a harmful Npc contacts whit him on that frame, he'll get hurt.
I don't know if this had been said before, but you know the pinkish background behind the "Block Contents" box?
Yeah, that's directly taken from background2-14. If background2-14 is customized in the level you are making, the box will acually change, for instance:
If i make background2-14 entirely black, the box's background will turn black.
I dunno if someone said that already, but if you constantly switch your item with your inventory-item (for example a Hammer Suit with a Racoon) your invincibility frames last longer.

It has been said before. I discovered this a few years ago when making a pyramid level, in fact.
If you throw an enemy upwards, it can get stuck in the ceilling. I discovered this playing Classic Castle Battle with my friend.
I was with 0 lives, he was pursuating me with a harmfull NPC, I was holding a mushroom, then I threw the mushroom upwards to pick it up, but it got stuck in the ceilling! Then my friend killed me, won the battle and we laughed a lot.

That's actually another fairly well known bug (at least, I always thought it was); I've done it with thrown shells before, and DarkMatt even has a gif of him doing it:

Ah, both the glitch and that gif brings back some good memories.
But I think this might be caused by SMBX's bad block collision (This can also happen with the player, if they touch a moving block while on the ground and they'll die).
I'm not really sure why the game isn't able to allow collisions go well properly, I find it usually weird.

...and putting slopes on layers that are moving can cause to horrible results and glitches that shouldn't exists. There's this one glitch that once a moving layer moves sideways and if there's a block and a slope next to it it can cause the player to go right while standing on it. It happens on the right side going down. There could be more though...
Noticed deranging thing:
SMBX 1.3.0.1 & 1.3.0.2 versions have different delay time between music replaying. So, if you looped your soundtrack, it may sound with pause at end
