The music in that first level is the Dry Dry Desert from the original Paper Mario; Pinaccle Pyramid inside is the yold ruins theme from Super Paper Mario.

Valtteri should hire you to judge levels.

I remember the first time I laid eyes on this episode, it was gorgeous as fuck, and I really enjoyed playing the hell out of it. I haven't fully completed it, though. I think I dropped it in W9, I might give it a try sometime later. It's really a shame we don't get to see much of your work anymore Chad, but I hope you have good luck on whatever you're doing right now. You sir, are awesome, tipping the cap for you.

Nope, not at all! I actually wondered if you'd give this a look at some point. I'll be looking forward to more, thank you and I'm glad the first impression has been a good one!
@Natsu:
Nice to hear that this episode still brings good memories! I still check the forums very seldomly, but I've pretty much laid my SMBX creative juices to rest for the time being and spend a lot of time playing Mario Maker and Copy Kitty. =P

There's no way it wouldn't bring good memories. If I had to, I could compare SMSE to the same impact SMW had on all kids the first time they first laid glance to it. Seriously, this project is THAT good. And sorry, but I haven't heard about Copy Kitty, though nobody seems to shut up about Mario Maker no matter where I go on the internet, like dude, I know it's cool and all that, but it's nothing new really (I do think that the SMB Airship and Ghost House implementation was really cool, though). I'll be always waiting your return to level designing, hell I don't think there's a single person in the whole community who wouldn't be waiting for your return.
Btw, you're still designing levels for official episodes right? I mean, you're part of the LD team, so that's my best guess. And you still review CC levels too, which means that you haven't dropped it yet. That only excites me as the possibility of coming back isn't that slim. Anyway, have an awesome day and happy new year Chad.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I have super recent updated links now that bossedit and Wraith's LPs encouraged me to give the episode another look for issues. Nothing too serious to be worth the redownload unless someone's looking to replay it and for the sake of the LPs, but one of the things I did was remove the diagonal cannons due to their poor functionality, lag causation, and difficulty skyrocketing.

Honestly, this is the best episode of SMBX, you use several simple and easy tricks to make and hyper innovative that I could not even imagine make in the SMBX ! I also noticed that you used only one style of music in the whole episode, each music of levels has a nice tone, which suits all levels of the episode . The graphics may not be as "customized" (graphics that the community usually always use), but it was amazing anyway, and it is cool, the level "3-2 Sub-Zero Subterrane" for example, stayed super amazing with that old ice cave tileset same . When the episode was in development, it was the fastest progress I've seen in SMBX , I could hardly wait for the full download link appears on the topic, but was finished very fast!!!
I give 10000000000/10 to this episode, I loved, I always have this episode in the folders of my SMBX !

This is seriously one of the best-designed episodes I've seen! Very well detailed, and very good gameplay as well. Also, I'm curious. What gfx pack(s) did you use while making this episode?

I've heard good things about this episode, so I decided to try it out for a little! Unfortunately, I only really got to see the main hub, but it looks promising so far! One small nitpick is that the character block's are kinda inconsistent when playing on 2.0, considering the Peach and Toad blocks get replaced with their (Much better) 2.0 counterparts, while the Mario and Luigi blocks do not, and the rotating blocks outside of the character select room always use their older designs. I would like to see an update to the episode that changes the graphics to the 2.0 sprites instead of the old, shitty ones, considering most people use 2.0 nowadays! Otherwise, this looks really promising, can't wait to actually start playing!

Honestly, I think this episode is best played on versions prior to 2.0 not only because of that, but the fact this episode was originally made to be played on 1.3.1. Of course, this is only an opinion of my own.
