Runtime Error 9 involving POW Blocks

Postby FutureNyanCat » Wed Apr 16, 2014 9:55 am

I built a big tower of POW Blocks to the height of the whole screen with the help of the SMB2 stopwatch. Then, I dropped 1 POW Block on the ground, and then it gave me a Runtime Error 9: Subscript out of Range error. Interestingly, it is because SMBX is trying to make most of the POW Blocks bounce when the screen shakes - but it's too much, and thus it may start giving a runtime error.

Here are illustrations I made:

After all of the above, crash.

See? Try it at your own risk.

too many blocks exploded simultaneously. smbx can not withstand heavy load.
also do not mess with stopwatch.
PS you must create this topic in 'help and support'

Yeah, the memory is overloaded when SMBX tried to make the POW Blocks bounce. Shorter towers are safer, but for towers that reach the top of the screen, it can cause a crash.

Ahh, the good old POW Blocks error. I did this too back then and the error occurs. This also happens if you use a lot bombs and it explodes on the same exact time. Same error.

Hold on, I've done this a million times before for shits and gigs, but I've never gotten Run-time Error 9 and I usually fill 3 quarters of the screen when I do it. This is really interesting, now I might just do this again and try to purposely activate the said error. I suppose at least this is one error that won't be accidentally achieved, besides, who'd make a level with POW Block Towers anyway... 8-)
