I can't help you with this, but I recommend you give up SMBX 1.4 since after SMBX 2.0 turned the canon version, nobody will use the 1.4, and the "global" version of SMBX will be the 2.0 one.

Funny thing is, I downloaded it, and the files I want are not in there for some strange reason...

Do you happen to have an antivirus? That might be the problem.
