It serves no other purpose than giving the HUD, the fonts, and some other elements a fresh and new look.
Some people suggested to me to upload it, so I thought to myself "why not".
But first, some screenshots of the edited graphics:
-All the HUD-graphics like the item-boxes of Mario and Luigi, the heart containers of Toad Peach and Link, the score, Links rupee-, key-, and bomb-symbols, the coin-, 1-up-, and star-symbols.
-All the fonts in SMBX like the main menu-font, the talk NPCs-font, or the worldmap levelname-font.
-All the 2-player messages like "Mario", "Luigi", "Toad", "Peach", "Link", "VS", "Wins".
-Other special graphics like the "Super Mario Bros. X"-logo in the main menu, the worldmap-background, the talk NPC's textboxes, the splash screen, the loading screens, and many minor things
What else got edited:
-The "intro"-level of SMBX got edited (there are no NPCs or characters playing in the background).
----nothing else got edited----
What else could I edit:
-I could alter the cheatcodes used in SMBX (save for the "hidden cheatcode") so one couldn't use specific or any cheats.
-I could edit the graphics of the SMBX-editor like the block-, NPC-, or BGO-buttons
-I could edit hardcoded NPCs like the clown car, Yoshies tongue, the different boots, or some other things (it wouldn't make much sense, though ^^)
Below is the download-link:(works again
http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=023 ... 6725298112
How to install it:
-take the .exe and replace your SMBX.exe with it (if you like to keep your already existing SMBX.exe, make a backup of it first)
-take the "intro".LVL-file, the "intro"-folder and the "Main Menu"-mp3 and place it where you also place the .exe (if you like to keep your already existing "intro".LVL-file, make a backup of it first)
Please note that this .exe got made with version 1.3.0.0 of SMBX, so none of the changes of version 1.3.0.1 are contained in this version
I like to thank "Darkchao"/"DarkshadeX" for sharing his knowledge about hacking the .exe, in his nice SMBX.exe hex editing-tutorial that he posted some years ago on NSMBX.
His tutorial helped me to make all my edits for this version. :-)
If you have any suggestions or if you find anything like a bug, please feel free to tell me here. Thank you.
