Even though water is grayed out while testing a level in the editor, you can still grab an area of water with the selection tool.

While being underwater, if you stand on a slippery block you can't move at all until you're swimming. While you're moving during the water and then land on a slippery block you can walk but your momentum can't be greater, only go slower if you want to.

The SM64 Bullies, the guys you're supposed to knock off a cliff or into lava, will actually just fall off if they get too close to the edge. This can be easily fixed by setting it's cliffturn to 1. (NPC # is 168)
Itll make them a little harder to knock off the cliff, since they'll immediatly run the opposite way when they reach a cliff, but its more like the actual bully from SM64.
Some of you prob already know this though

If mario plucks out a buried smb3 conveyor belt, it will snap to a random block upon throwing.
EDIT: Nope, not random. It goes to the block it was planted in.

EDIT: Dangit, it happened again...
Actually if you guys paid attention, I made use of this in my CC11 level. The spinning big boo only has 4 frames and it spins in the direction it's turned B)

In addition to grabbing water boxes while testing, you can also grab the start locations. Why you would want to is beyond me, but hey it's there if you want to.

I'm to lazy to read the whole thread so i dunno if this was already stated but if you freeze an enemy on a moving layer and stand on the ice you'll get thrown in whatever direction the layer is moving.

Most attacks in SMBX are focused on the npc hitboxes.
But, Link's downward sword attack focuses on the graphic hitboxes.

If you're riding Yoshi and he has a springboard in his mouth, jumping off of Yoshi and then hitting the falling springboard allows you to make massive jumps. The player can't really be forced to do it though, since you can just jump off of the springboard then jump off of Yoshi. You can technically force them to do it with an invisible lava ceiling, but if the player needs to traverse the area backwards later that can be a problem.

The SMW skull platform that is often used to ride on lava also works on the water.
Yoshi cant eat other Yoshi's even if you set noyoshi to 0.

God, you reaaaly cant take a joke.
AT ALL
You've never even tried to be nice to me.
Every post you throw at me has said something under the line of "Screw You"
I know you wouldn't be able to say that to my face.
You only do because you cant see my emotions.
So please go fuck your self.
We don't want you here.

Yeah, I believe that I abused that a bit in TI2.

I don't know if someone already wrote that, I don't even know if it's that big secret, but I discovered that the fireballs of the different characters are also acting different. For example: Peach's fireballs are much slower than Mario's, but they bounce off one time after throwing them.

Yeah. Also as note:
-Luigi's fireballs bounce higher and run slower
-Toad's fireballs can be fired in any direction
-Link's fireballs can only go horizontally from the elevation of his sword

Also toad's bounce not as high and are much faster.

Yeah, the fireballs match the character's abilities for the most part
Mario is average, so his fireballs match the official games.
Luigi jumps higher and runs slower, so his fireballs bounce higher but move more slowly.
Toad jumps lower and runs faster, so his fireballs bounce low and are very quick.
Peach is slow and has a "gimmicky" ability (the float), so her fireballs are slow but have the "gimmick" of bouncing off of walls.
Link's fireballs simulate the fire spell from Zelda II.
Also, all characters can angle fireballs upward by pressing up, which can't be done in the official games.

Ive known this pretty much since i first started SMBX back in 2010, and its pretty cool because it puts even more variety between each character

If you touch a harmful npc and a mushroom at the same time, you'll still collect the mushroom, but you'll also die.
