Even for a vanilla episode and levels, you could follow this tip:
The Starhub don't fit with grass or wood blocks (The Wood Tileset maybe...). If your challenge is making a episode without custom graphics, try to make graphics that most fit with the place. Like, the starhub floor could be SMB3 Caslte Floor. It's very shiny and all. I think you managed to do like Gruntilda's Lair of Banjo-Kazooie, near the world door, make the level themed areas. Well, it's cool but, you could manage do this a bit better.
