Temple of wind review
Design & Gameplay - Acceptable
| This level had some interesting kaizo-ish concepts with regular Mario difficulty, true the execution wasn't that good. There were some fun parts, so I wouldn't say that it was a bad level to play. The difficulty was mostly okay in general, but not for W1, not even a secret level.
- As I mentioned before, there were some flaws in the difficulty.
1) The part before the star is tedious for first time players. They would try to do regular jump (because that gives you higher jump height and it's also easier to control), but after the player falls into the spiny pit, he/she realizes the need of spinjump way too late.
2) The clouds are solid from the bottom too, aside from the small ones. It's inconsistent, and that's never good in a level. (for example: sometimes the waterfalls are swimmable, sometimes they are not, true not in this level)
3) The platforming part is okay but the waiting time is a bit long if you fail. (which will probably happen on the first try)
In conclusion: the biggest flaw of the level that it's probably unbeatable during the first run. The level is
Atmosphere & Visuals - Okay
+ The music was fitting in the level.I also didn't see clash.
| The blocks were a bit too bright compared to the background.
- I think that the level could've had some background objects.
Score: 3.25/10
An acceptable level with only one flaw: it's impossible to beat on first try (the second try isn't that bad)
