I'm gonna derail the thread by talking about the origin of my avatar:

My avatar is the background from the first Lavos battle in Chrono Trigger. When I first made it there, I was like "wow, that's an amazing effect!", and this was back when I made fun of SNES games' graphics for being limited by the SNES's capabilities, so that shows you how impressed I was by this graphic.

Mine is a bit more personal, but I'll share just three things about the origin:
1. I wear red a lot. If it's not that, then it's black or white, although white is strictly when in uniform. I never wear yellow though. I just felt I needed another color to go with the red.
2. Somewhat hard to tell now, but I did look to my horoscope, which is Scorpio.
3. Also a bit hard to tell, but since I'm a fan of Yoshi, that also influenced how I designed him. Strangely, despite creating him in mid-2009, I never gave him a name.

I'll also share one more thing about the specific image:
Because I'm into 16-bit "pixel" games and RPGs, this is what I came up with in mid-2012, and I'm still using the same image three years later.
