He's literally called himself God :V
I mean David Lee Roth (see: Van Halen) and Axl Rose (see: Guns 'n' Roses) may be assholes but at least they made good music in their careers that will stand the test of time. How often do you hear the best of Kanye on the radio and how often do you hear Van Halen and G&R on rock radios?
Two things that piss me off:
1. When people swear on everything that is holy that a bunch of popular rock stars from days gone by are the pinnacle of music (especially when they also disregard modern music as being all bad, although you don't seem to be doing that, at least no explicitly).
2. When people attempt to "prove" that one artist is better than another by how much their music has been played on the radio.
These things attempt to delegitimize another's music taste by virtue of status as a classic or general airtime (the latter is used more often when somebody tries to prove why a modern pop star is better than whatever it is you're listening to), which I find somewhat troublesome because there is no objectivity possible when it comes to taste. There might be intersubjectivity, that is to say that one artist is more often preferred than other artists, but it's really meaningless considering intersubjective approval says nothing about the inherent value of the music (or for any other form of art, really). So basically:
3. When people assume that certain artists are objectively "better" than others, whether this is stated explicitly or implicitly.
For the record,I'm not exactly a fan of Kanye and he is most definitely not a god, he's more of a clown, if anything.
