Of course, there are worse places, but at least they're fun to be in.
This place has absolutely no real redeeming qualities.
SMBX will be coming to an end eventually, whether you like it or not.
Sooner than most people think.

I can get what you're saying, Vinyl. But I guess the reason why I keep coming here is because... I've been here a long time. It's hard to give it up all of a sudden. I know people here, and they're here as opposed to anywhere else, and they probably feel at least kind of similarly. There sure has been a lot of bullshit in this community over the years, but it's still this community, with many of the same people who were here five years ago (holy shit) and more recently too.

It sounds kind of stupid, but I guess the SMBX community kind of shaped my early teens. Even when I wasn't very active, I visited the forums all the time and checked up on people's projects. This is like my home on the internet or something. I can't just give it up. I feel like I owe it to the community to stay. I don't mean that in a douchey way, sorry. But everyone recognizes me and I recognize everyone, because we've all been through the bullshit together, and caused our own bullshit, and generally had more than a few good laughs and played a few good levels.

I know the community has to die eventually, because people have to stop caring at some point, including me. But I'll probably be one of the last to go, because I've been here for so long. The community is still a bunch of Nintendo enthusiasts (to some extent) who are like banded together around a long-dead fangame. I think that's kind of cool on its own.

But that's just me.

(I'm really sorry if I sound all douchey and sentimental, that's not really my intent. It's just the reason why I'm still here, at least.)
