Off-topic: Actually if every person on Earth disappeared then all of our pets would die due to no one feeding them, man-made structures would all crumble, and everything would become overgrown. Well, it's a theory anyway.

On-topic: I agree with the OP, people are too sensitive. I feel like most of the Internet nowdayas (especially the younger generation) doesn't know how to differentiate between constructive criticism/jokes and "cyberbullying."

I don't think it's too much to ask to watch how you joke on the forums.

That's true, because hypersensitivity shouldn't be a reason to be able to just say anything.

But if you nicely tell someone that you don't like their clothes or something, and they start crying...who is at fault?

But that's a harmless opinion. If she took offense to it, she's the one at fault, not you, because there is nothing offensive about simply saying you don't like a person's clothes.

It's not quite a harmless opinion. How would you feel if somebody came up to you and just decided to say they don't like your clothes? You probably wouldn't cry (overreaction), but I'd bet it wouldn't make you feel good. Walking up to someone and telling them you don't like their clothes is something you just don't do. It's a somewhat different story if they ask your opinion first, though.

If it was just some random person I don't know, I wouldn't really be bothered by it. Of course, it'd be different if there was a group of people attacking and harassing you about it.

I just wanted to tell you this and then ill just go
I know people always turn autistic people into stereotypes that don't get sarcasm and are easily offended. Well NO!

I am actually autistic
But i am also a sarcastic jerk
And i am never offended whatsoever
My autism pretty much disables my social skills and extremely decreases my emotions in some ways, while on the other hand i have an IQ that's high as fuck and i am really creative

So no
Not every "autist that dominates the place" does this
And please stop using autism in the same way you would use retard please

I hope you know that post looks like you basically contradicted yourself entirely with every word you said.
I never meant autistic in a retardation way I meant autistic in an autistic way. This is a prime example really of how autism can affect the forums.

I think it's worth noting that this is again a problem with the social half of the forum rather than the SMBX half, and the meta-discussion in the previous replies compliment the problem by giving it attention rather than ignoring it.

Anyways there's only so much that can be done unless everyone self moderates or waits for things to work themselves out.

The problem with what you're calling "self-moderation" is that it implies that everyone should ignore what they don't like, regardless of whether or not it's actually bad.

I have nothing against freedom of expression, but we're a community. The "if you don't like it, ignore it" mentality is fine with minority groups that come out against something, but not the other way around when the minority group is being offensive and expects everybody to just ignore them if they have a problem.

The "if you don't like it ignore it" expression applies when the butthurt group is in the minority group and everyone else is fine. The waifu thread in particular demonstrates this perfectly with SWY whining and the topic getting locked. They're yet another minority catered to, but god forbid anyone say anything against it. It's automatically unfunny, and offensive because that's the designated response.

I don't even remember why the waifu thread was locked, but I doubt it had anything to do with the content of the thread itself.

I acknowledged the fact that "if you don't like it, ignore it" works when the minority group is offended. An example of where it doesn't work would be making a comment suggesting (jokingly or not) that another genocide is necessary.

Oh, that.

You absolutely started that. Sure, SWY reacted poorly, but his reaction was understandable since you literally said he has "garbage opinions" and "a bad attitude" without any comedic explanation. Poor decisions from both sides = topic locked.
