M#: Reanimation!
Unknown TV Hacker wrote:“Civil authorities in your area have reported that the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living.”
Basically, a big scientific research group discovered a way to reanimate corpses. However, this caused a great divide of opinions. Half the scientists (let's call them Group A) wanted to continue testing of the formula they used on human corpses, but the other half (let's call them Group B) thought it was immoral and wrong to use the formula. The two sides split into two separate research groups and facilities. Group A decided to try to kill of the innocent residents of the local area and reanimate them into an undead army, in hopes of overpowering group B, and, possibly, taking over the world. Group B however will try anything to stop A from doing so, even murder. Both groups sent out undercover agents to gain the trust of the town and prevent each other from achieving their goals.
Gameplay:
-15 players
-Faction(?)
-Roleflip on inspection and death
-Ballot box lynching
Roles:
Group A:
A Agent (x4): These agents have been given the task of eliminating Group B's agents and converting the entire town to zombies. All four know who each other are, but not who anyone else is. They can choose to either kill a person each night, or mark a person for death. Marking a person for death means that, should that person die, they will be converted to a zombie (Zombie role explained later). A person can only be marked for death for one day and one night phase, and if they do not die during that time frame, they can't be marked again. They can, of course, still be killed.
Winning Conditions: Group B's agents need to be dead, or majority of the regular townspeople need to be converted to zombies. In either case, the detective must also be dead (Detective explained later).
Group B:
B Agent (x4): These agents have been given the task of eliminating Group A's agents and preventing the rise of the undead. All four know who each other are, but not who anyone else is. They can choose to either kill a person each night, or shelter a person in their facility, preventing them from being killed, but not marked.
Winning Conditions: Group A's agents need to be dead, and at least
two regular townspeople need to be alive. The detective does not have to survive(poor guy).
The Town:
No one in the town knows who anyone else is.
Detective: The detective can choose to inspect someone each night and learn their role. Also, the Detective can instead choose to inspect the grave of a person who has died in the game. If said person has been converted, the Detective will be told that the body is missing from its grave, but if said person died for real, the Detective will be told that the body still lies in the grave.
Townsperson (x6): Like everyone else in the game, they can submit a lynch vote to the host each day, and their survival is vital.
Winning Conditions: Any townsperson (plus Detective) that hasn't been converted or killed wins with Group B should Group B win.
Zombies:
Zombies are a special role in that they are only created from the deaths of existing players. They have all of the abilities of a Townsperson, except they are not allowed to talk in the main topic and are discouraged from talking in the #smbxgames IRC. However, Zombies will have Group A's agents revealed to them, and therefore side with them, which also means contributing to the nightly kill/mark. Zombies can, of course, be killed a second time, and can't be marked for death.
Anyone who's a Zombie wins if Group A wins.
Other Notes:
-If the Detective gets converted, he looses the ability to discover roles
-Group B agents CAN shelter one of their own
-Group A agents can NOT mark one of their own
-Dead players have their names struck through and their role listed beside them, even if they get converted into zombies. If a zombie dies, however, their name will then be colored
Brown.
Got a feeling some or all of this game is incredibly unbalanced, so balance suggestions are encouraged.
