This is a weird Situation for a Level. If you die at the end at Bowser, how exactly can we beat the Level itself? I know I have not played the Level due to not being at Home (where I can do everything too), unable to download the Level and also see, play and record but for me I am very curious about how to beat it. About the Level itself, it Looks well made. I like classic moments especially the earlier ones...

It seems a joke level, but at the end the blocks are only coins, so you'll die. but I reach the goal running and I beat the level.

Level Review #10: Mario Dies by thunderlakitu
Reviewed by castlewars.
Level Design: 2.5/10
IDK what's up with this level but it feels really awkward and silly. It starts out like your standard SMB1 level but then as soon as you get to where the "flag" is supposed to be it transitions into some joke level of sorts (actually it is quite clearly a joke level, but still plays out like a normal platformer) and it's even indicated by that satirical message "no flag for you". The only "good" things that need to be mentioned is the skillful use of cloning sections so they look alike to each other, and the fact that sections 1 and 6 are the only "proper" sections to this level. With that in mind, this level actually has a whopping 12 sections, and it would have been preferred if layers and events could have been used to cut the number by about half. Talking of layers and events, some of these have been executed quite well as a way of introducing new areas to levels, much like TI2 did at the end of one of its castle levels, and that also relives the feeling of SMB1 a little. Yet in section 4, you seem to have a tendency of holding down Shift and the right arrow key until your finger gave out, and this idea of a good story and a bad story seems to get repetitive, like with what you did with section 4, in which the section's too bland and too long - reducing the length will fix this problem. Speaking of bland sections, section 5 is a good contender.
Music: 3/10
Err...kinda. The fact that your level is still being influenced by TI2 is one factor, evidenced by the Waluigi Pinball music in section 9, this is still a joke level, sections 5 and 11 have no music whatsoever, and section 4 has rather unfitting music for a Toad House. However, the majority of the sections, including the castle and overworld "proper" sections, have the fittest music that can get.
Graphics: 2/10
Even if this is still a joke level, it's still about how you use custom graphics, not about the fact that they're there, even if the level has almost no custom graphics. Even so, not having custom graphics can be a good thing in this case, particularly with the "proper" overworld and castle sections, in which they give the feeling of the classic SMBX pre-1.2 and a typical SMB1 platformer. Funnier still the "blocks" at the end of the level just before and under the Goal Panel are actually replacing the Sonic Rings (in case someone hasn't noticed). You know that it's impossible to complete this level, right, thunderlakitu? Well you're wrong. As Christian07 said, if you get a running start and jump for the Goal Panel, you'll just brush the Sonic Ring "blocks" and complete the level. Also, on a completely unrelated note, the fortress blocks in section 4 clash with the Toad House, further evidencing the fact that it's a joke level of sorts. And...remember what I said about section 5 being a strong contender for blandest section ever? It's because of the fact that there's absolutely no background being used whatsoever, and only one type of block as well, in which the SMW signs clash as they're too bright over the SMB2 blocks. Then you start writing wacky messages using blocks, such as "i'm beautiful" in said section. This is totally odd and I was laughing my socks off when I played it and discovered this.
NPC Placement: 2/10
When we're talking about NPC use in this level, we should be referring to the prevalent use of a rather narrow selection of them, but the prevailing choice was probably the smattering of SMW signs throughout that give this funny inside story about two stories rebelling against each other (as in "NO I WANT THIS STORY IT'S BETTER!!1" and "NO I WANT THE SAD STORY!!") which would be something that would add to the funny meter of this level, but not to the skilled NPC use meter. Nothing is known as if what happens with the two stories though. Also in the castle sections with Bowser in them, it's only possible to get past if the player has a Fire Flower with them as there's no way to destroy the bridge otherwise the section is impossible to complete. Speaking of powerups, there were only two, and they were both at the start of the level. If that was the case then the chances of losing the powerups and being able to complete the level "wingless" or without any powerups is very slim particularly as Bowser needs to be defeated twice, and with a Fire Flower. Also, section 6 had the only actual enemies in this level, and really strange choices as well. Well, this is the fifth time I've stated that it's a joke level, so I won't say it anymore.
Overall Result: 2.8/10 (Level Status: The Trash Can)
Well you know where joke levels ultimately end up (oh wait I just said it again) after being reviewed. Actually, if I followed the traditional reviewing regulations this level would actually get 3.5/10 placing it in Average, so I had to do this because joke levels don't deserve to be in the Average section rather than in the Trash Can.

I really liked the atmosphere you set with the signs, although I think it could've been made a bit better by creating a narrative character and not a statonary sign which pretends to have these emotions. If it's a voice from above, you could've used invisible axes. Anyways, while there is not much to it in terms of graphics or gameplay, I did enjoy this level as a whole. It's memorable and, if you think about it, kinda sinister even. Punching Mario into a role from which he escapes by changing the set story. If I were to give points for this, I'd have to change my concept a bit since I really liked the atmosphere and story, and that's what this level focuses on. For me, graphics and the story are some sort of opposites. Many graphically stunning levels don't have much of a story to it and levels with deep story rarely side-focus on being appealing. Don't get me wrong, the level was appealing as a whole, but there wasn't anything standing out except for the random graphics in the dream sections.
Graphics/Story: 3/3
As said, I like what you did here. While the cgfx aren't the fanciest around, you cleverly used them to create a dreamy, unrealistic feel in the sections in which you used them.
Music: 1/2
Should've maybe played it again, but from what I remember, it was mostly silence and Bowser's castle music. Great atmosphere created, but maybe there are even better choices. See it as an 1.4 which I rounded down.
Gameplay: 1/5
There was some. YEAH. I'm fine with this since it does focus on storytelling, but the gameplay parts were really easy and just kind of bridges between the castle parts and storyline parts.
Overall, I'm a sucker for stories. Really liked it, despite the lack of gameplay. 5/10 from me, sir.

Than why are telling castlewars to rate it nicely? I thought it deserved a one; no offense to the creator of this level.

The Trash Can's intended for kaizo levels and joke levels. As this is actually a joke level I had to place it in the Trash Can.

I don't share your opinion as I thought it was a fairly interesting level with actually some story behind it. Sure, there wasn't much gameplay, but you can't tick it off as joke level just because of the graphics used in Happy Zone.

Later of many days, i finally knew how to fix it. ok now that i played it, i gotta say the smb block coin looks like a bit lighter/darker than the original one, really. that way you can know what one is a coin, and what one is the block.

You know, maybe the forums administrators should make a Kazio/Joke level type of place to post.
