Don't worry, I didn't think that. There's so much that goes into HBox's playstyle that can't be seen easily. I don't think that most players (myself included) can see all of the deep mindgames that go into his Jigglypuff in both games. All we see is bair, bair, bair, bair, but there's so much more to HBox than that. That's why the For Glory players can easily be taken out, while HBox is a formidable foe in Smash 4 and a god in Melee.

Nah no problem-o, heh heh. Like Vyvuto said though, he's a very skilled and technical player though even if it doesn't look like that on the surface.

Those setups in the Pac-Man combo video were insane. Speaking of Pac-Man, in the latest patch, there's a glitch that greatly benefits him. It can be executed by doing the following: first, use up-b on the stage. Then, if your opponent walks onto the resulting trampoline created by that up-b, use up-b a second time. This will cause your opponent to start falling through the stage, and if they're not fast enough to get back on the top of the stage, they'll lose a stock. The only stage that it doesn't work on is Dreamland 64, but other than that, it's a pretty big (possibly gamebreaking) advantage for Pac-Man. Although it will be patched out almost definitely, sadly enough for Pac-Mains.

Oh yeah, I saw that in this video. I doubt it's overpowered though since it's a known glitch now. People know how it's set up, and honestly if the person doesn't panic I'm sure a lot of characters can recover from below the stage given how good recoveries are now. I'm pretty sure if you jump aryl enough you can come back up through the stage too.

It's pretty hilarious though; it can even be done to Giga Bowser.

^ Agreed.

That's why I hope this doesn't get banned in tournies. It'd be really neat to see players playing around the setup and add a whole new level of mindgames to the Pac-Man matchup. Although it might give him a bit too much stage control, what with him also having the hydrant and some slow-moving projectiles. As it stands, I'd rather it get patched, but I'd also rather it not get banned before the patch comes out.

^^^ This is how most Jigglypuff battles play out for me. I actually played another good one today though, but I forgot to save the replay :C

For some better matches though here's this and that

Every now and then I play against a decent Capt. Falcon, like the one above. Not the best of course, but coming from one who's exp. against Falcon mains is pretty much mostly predictable "dash attack falcon kick neutral A b-throw knee/d-air attempt", this guy was a bit intense.

I keep encountering this weird glitch in Fun Team battles, where I get stuck on the character select screen. The game wont let me continue until either someone else enters the room, or the time runs out.

^^ That happens to me too from time-to-time. I guess the game doesn't wanna keep you waiting in the "training area"

I played For Glory teams with a friend a few days ago. I was inspired to do so by this video:

It's actually a lot like this.

The Charizard and Wario ones made me roll in my seat xD and the Link + D.r Mario vs. the two Ness users was just crazy xP I love ditto matches, especially when the other guy is just wanting to have some fun as well =P Speaking of ditto matches, had a 2v2 recently where I decided to goof off as Ganon for a couple rounds and ran into another Ganon user. This match is the result:

So the first For Glory battle I played I won... against Captain Falcon.

First battle I used Lucario against Captain Falcon (won)
Second battle I got my ass handed to me by Toon Link when playing with Lucario (lost)
Third battle I beat King Dedede with Toon Link (won)

Overall I'm having a lot of fun with Sm4sh. It also feels nice that I can at least decently hold my own against online players.

Toon Link can be a real pain in the butt to deal with. Most of the ones I encounter do nothing but evade and spam boomerang/arrows/bombs until your damage is > 80% then they start trying to actually fight. It doesn't help that Lucario has trouble dealing with projectile spam until his damage is roughly 90% when Aura Sphere starts punching through boomerangs. The upside to this of course is Aura+Rage makes it easier to rack up damage and kill earlier.

just some advice if you don't mind me giving my two cents on battles against Toon Link as the Sexy Dog Lucario
Spoiler: show
I've found that when dealing with TL players it's best to approach carefully and wisely, and keep an eye on him constantly to look for the most subtle of animation changes. He's open while carrying bombs, so you can pelt him with Aura Spheres if you're feeling it during this time. He'll either have to shield or jump, leaving him open for a grab or aerials, or throw the bomb at the Aura Sphere to cancel it, which of course makes a short window of opportunity for Luky. If you're at least adept at wave-bouncing you can try catching him in your Aura Sphere charge as well.

When your damage is high, Force Palm of course becomes insanely large and powerful, so use that to space, but just be aware if you're too close or use it too much you'll get predictable, and the attack itself has a lot of lag. Toon Link likes to rush in and attempt up-smashes when we're at kill percent, so if you see him charging at you, DON'T ROLL BACK. Jump or roll towards him as he's getting close - odds are he'll think that since he's close you'll wanna put some distance between yourself and him, so he'll run a bit further to catch you out of that roll.

Don't ever get flustered against Toon Links, which is hard given the ridiculously gargantuan mounds of boomerangs, arrows, and bombs you'll put up with, but he wants that to happen so that you'll act out of frustration rather than with a calm and perceptive mind. Also, be sure to mix things up. Sometimes faking him out by suddenly pausing, jumping and moving backwards, or turning around can throw him off and he may throw out a careless attack, leaving him vulnerable.
Don't respect anything. If he's off-stage, bait an air dodge out of him and then back-air him. Edgeguarding with ASC works wonders as well, but most effectively when Aura is high because AS gets HUGE. If he climbs up the ledge and gets caught in ASC, you can follow up with a ASC-dropped jump-canceled Up-smash, which has won me TONS of close matches both against Toon Links and others. This is what it looks like: (skip to around 1:10)

At around 1:10. Great for throwing opponents off and landing unexpected (from your oppoents) KOs. You can do this by having tap-jump on and performing the following inputs in rapid succession: Shield button --> tap jump --> A. The game thinks you're trying to jump out of shield, but you press the buttons so fast it instead registers as an up-smash

Those're just my two cents, hope they can be useful =P and sorry for the wall of text haha =P

Has anyone else ever got an offstage PSI Magnet kill with Lucas? It feels great.

I did that in Training Mode.

Anyone else nailed the Ken Combo with Roy?

For those who don't know, the Ken Combo is the fair to dair spike with Marth/Roy/Lucina. It is called that way because it was innovated by Smash legend Ken.

I don't think it's quite a true combo for Roy in this game (it only truly works perfectly in NTSC Melee), but yes I have pulled it off. It seems even more satisfying than it did in Melee though.

Can't say I've done a Magnet kill off-stage, though that would have to be amazing. That sounds like a pretty great kill option for Lucas, actually.

It really is a good kill option. It has amazing horizontal knockback and can easily get rid of people with poor recoveries. It's like Falcon's dtilt, but you can use it anywhere and it actually kills if you're not going for the gimp.

Oh, man, I really need to get involved in this thread.

So I only have the 3DS version of Smash 4 (I also have Brawl, but this thread's not for Brawl, so no-one cares). I used to main Toon Link, but now I main Mr. Game and Watch, and I'm trying out with Lucina to see how she is. I only have the 3DS version, because I'm not allowed to get a Wii U ;-;

I saw the AOC store, and I want to get the things available, though that's going to be hard considering my eShop balance is something like $1.53 (AUS dollars) and the cheapest thing there is probably like $3 or something. So I'll need to get another card to even get anything. Though I'd really like to get the Kirby stage from Smash 64, Mewtwo and Lucas. I don't mind Ryu or Roy, but I'd probably get Ryu for the stage he comes with. I like having a lot of stages to battle on.

Speaking of stages, my favourite Smash 4 stage has to be either Dream Land, Flat Zone 2, Pictochat or PAC-MAZE.

I think I gone crazy of Villager.
He is my main fighter and I would play as him alot more than anyone (especially my worst who is Peach).
I even beaten classic mode at 9.0 with losing a life as the character I am talking about now.
I used to look up memes of the Villager alot and also watch videos about him (Or include him).
And I keep on thinking about the Villager that is wearing a "Rugby Tee" as an actual crush.
I also have a feeling that if I become a popular smasher, I would end up being called "The king of Villagers".

EDIT: When I ment "crush" I ment that I am in love with the "Rugby Tee Villager".
I know that someone might say that it is cute, but why am I crazy of this character.

I may do a picture soon with Ness Wednesday (Me) and Rugby Tee Villager (See! That's what I am talking about).
