Customized Backgrounds

Postby AToMIC » Thu Jun 11, 2015 12:27 pm

These are really anything special or jaw dropping, but I was screwing around with some backgrounds and decided these were legit for the graphics forums. I may add more, but here are two of them. I will actually add more if people like them, enough I guess. I did use backgrounds from the ultimate graphic pack and others, so I give you all fair credit and if you have any issues with these backgrounds please PM me and they will be removed if a legit reason is given.

These are being used in my project so please give credit if used, if reasonable.

First one looks useful, although the amount of layers makes the perspective look a little off for a mario level. It looks like you're looking from high in the sky down onto the plains.

2nd one has 1x1 pixels good job 10/10 would never look at again.

I see that the second one is only 500 pixels in height. SMBX uses a 800x600 window. In addition to addressing the 1x1 pixels, you may want to fill in the remaining 100 pixels on the top or bottom.

Just for fun, I did that myself and scaled the second one down to half size to eliminate the 1x1 issue. The hills do look a little too bumpy, and the angles of the leaning blocks could be "regraded" a little to eliminate bumps there too.

1:1 (a 45 degree angle), 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1 are all smooth in 8-bit and 16-bit graphics. The leaning blocks in this background from left to right appear to be 13:6, 2:1, and 8:5. The block in the middle is good, but the ones on the left and right need to be adjusted, and all three need to have the 1x1 pixels fixed.
