So yeah, do you think Nintendo would make a Mario editor to scale of SMBX? (Custom graphics, make a full episode, etc.) This could be great for the Wii U.

So, Nintendo did not make a single editor for a platforming game like Mario and so on but actually there is one as far as I know but this is more like a Puzzle Game. I forgot the title on this game, sorry about that but at least it is on Nintendo DS as I can tell to my knowledge.

Another editor that I know is Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Stage Builder - Ability to make your own Stages. This is one of the thing I really love because I like editing stages/levels.

Also why would Nintendo want to make a editor like SMBX? People only would flipshit again then about Nintendo stealing from SMBX. And personally i think when someone created a editor who isn't part of Nintendo and its free to use then its better like it is. Nintendo would make you only pay for it and who even knows how it would look like. Beside they maked a bunch of mario games and there are tons of level editors for almost everyone so nope.

Considering the evidence of SMBX's influence on Super Mario 3D World, they might do it eventually. There's no need to rule it out completely.

I don't think that it'd be a good idea, though. I think Nintendo would be tacitly admitting to having a lack of new things to add to Mario themselves, and I doubt they as a company would be interested in selling one of their major franchises that way.

As Darkonius said, it's a last resort, and it'd be obvious to everyone that it's a last resort.

I think theres a chance of one day there being a level editor by nintendo,but I doubt it will be like smbx were you can use custom graphics and stuff.

It would be impossible to make custom graphics on a computer screen particularly if you want precise shading on something since your stylus for the Wii U or 3DS is difficult to handle, and there would probably be highly limited options. I think that there will be a level editor eventually, but I'm not expecting one.

All I was implying was that when Super Mario 3D World uses concepts and ideas similar to those that were in SMBX, there's a possibility of the latter influencing the former. Possibility is NOT actuality, and I wasn't even suggesting it was, knowing that, again, evidence is NOT proof.

You don't need to ALWAYS be this dismissive of other viewpoints. It's perfectly okay to say "I don't believe SMBX had an influence on Super Mario 3D World" without acting like I proposed something ridiculous.

And as the argument has been made about SMBX influencing SM3DW in any way, it's not like the ideas they supposedly took from SMBX were that original or something someone else couldn't have easily thought up anyway.

As for a level editor being added, I find it highly unlikely since they try to have new ideas and concepts with every new game, and it's hard to update a level editor if you keep having new games on new systems. People want the new ideas in their editor (which obviously wouldn't be able to be updated passed a point). They also don't want their fanbase to have the ability to create content superior to their own.

I wasn't even asking for strict dictionary-cited interpretations of my posts anyway. I was only asking not to misrepresent my posts by taking them out of context and removing things that end up changing their meaning, which will be inevitable when people deliberately only quote half-sentences out of my posts. There may yet be a new Mario editor by another third party at some point anyway, though probably not one as particularly great as SMBX anytime soon.

Nintendo are becoming hyper-sensitive when it comes to NSFW content in gaming. SSBB's Stage Builder is a classic example - some people might be making stages in the shape of penises or other NSFW content. So if that editor was released then some people would likely hack it and end up producing levels with NSFW content in the levels. If this was discovered, even if Nintendo implemented CGFX, then Nintendo would get sued for it.
