I was working on a map for Mari0 when it hit me, "What if I made 2 versions of the same map, one for each fan game (SMBX and Mari0)". At the time I only had a Mac computer, so I couldn't install SMBX. Quickly, I installed Mari0 and have been working on that Map since March of last year, and I'm still not done with the 3rd world. I have been working really hard on making that map, and have been using all my free time to make that one. Fast-forward an entire year latter, I purchase a Surface Pro 3 (not the most exciting Windows Gaming computer, but it can play SMBX), and I can now make the levels I needed to. I will admit, I slacked of until I actually wanted to make it. And I did. I was just making Level 1 yesterday. I worked all night making this (from 10:30-2:00, so not all night). Now with Mari0, you don't need much to make a map. You find a good tileset, find good music, and make the level design fun, kinda like SMBX. But because SMBX is far more expansive than Mari0,
so the community expects more I can actually focus on making the levels more in the way I've been wanting too, I can now find eyecandy graphics that suit me, more NPCs, etc. So I downloaded the Mari0 map I had in my Mediafire cloud storage, and went straight to work. Once I replicated all the elements from my original map on Mari0, it looked kinda dull. So I went and found the best GFX pack I could find, went looking for the music I needed, and everything has been working out ever since. I am actually proud to say, I might have worked a bit harder on this than I should've. It's not fantastic. I called it Amateur Mario for a reason. But here it is! I am still working on more levels. This isn't the only level I made for this map (no duh).
YES. I'm still making levels in Mari0, for those coming from the other forum.
