You should add some shades of grey to the graphite part. Other than that: I'm not the biggest fan of the pillowshading you used on the yellow part. Try to make it look like the light is coming from the top left corner at all times!

It looks more like a felt pen to me right now, and the yellow looks more cloverleaf than hexagonal from the shading.

If up to me, I'd shade the upper yellow a little darker/brighter (with the lower yellow the darkened if the upper is brightened), and I'd add some wood between the yellow and "lead". Everything else seems fine to me.

If you look at it right now it would actually fit into an SMW level because SMW graphics don't have shades of grey on the sides. If you add them, then it would fit more into an SMB3 level. Those shades can transform the style of the graphic.

I think you forgot to put wood inbetween the lead and the yellow paint? That's probably what was "missing" when you repeatedly told yourself something was off about this as you were uploading it.

Or maybe you didn't think anything was wrong at all and that it was great so far. I dunno. That fact that you even hinted that it could be better in the poll kinda tells me that you had some doubts about this, though, and now you know what you missed.

BTW try shading the under side a bit darker, and the top side a bit brighter than the middle side.

Um, no. It's not shaded enough to even fit into a SMW level.

Those evil looking pencils reminds me of a GBA game Wario Land 4 at one stage called "Doodle Woods". I hated this place when I was younger probably because of that stupid pig flying around drawing 2 types of enemies and after it's release of the painting, they attack you. Later on there are pencils just Floating about and the tip of it hurts you like what regular enemies and Spikes do. At least everything else of the pencil doesn't hurt, only at the area where you would naturally draw on nearly everywhere.

All things aside from that awesome game, this graphic Looks pretty nice although I do agree what others has been already mentioned with the flaws. Still, it's very useful. Very good work on that. Hopefully we can see more from your works.
