=THE FORUM COLLABORATION PROJECT=

An idea i've had for a while now. I'm taking five forums and taking a bunch of users from each to be in a platformer.
In case you're wondering what it looks like at the time of posting this, I've already finished all of Stage 1 and the character representing me:

Okay, onto the big stuff now, how to join:

NOTE: PM me this information if you want to be in, don't post your character stuff here.

1) It can be any character you want, as long as you can provide me with sprites (so yes, OCs are welcome).

2) You MUST have a complete sprite sheet for me to work with:
Required sprites:

You can add in optional sprites as well:

Or you could just find the sprites on like Spriter's Resource

3) Your character MUST have at least one attack.

4) Your character MUST have some stats I can work off of and MUST be balanced:
Required stats (all must have a minimum of 1):

I think that's it, but if you want, you can add some optional steps:

5) voice clips
6) special attack

Alright, I think that covers it all.

I'd love to have a go at this!

To make sprites, can you suggest a site or program compatible with Macs? (not counting PhotoShop, because I have no money ;-;)

My character's an OC. No details yet.

Sorry, but I can't think of a good drawing program for Macs.
(And the game won't be able to have Mac functionality either, but i'll still try to get you in if you really want to.)

Also, loving that FP quote in your sig.

GIMP, MS Paint, and if you're actually willing to install the whole thing, Game Maker has one of the best sprite editors i've ever used.

Do you need to pay for Game Maker?

There is a free version, and the good news is the Sprite Editor works just like it does in the full thing.
(I have Professional, they downgraded Standard to Free.)

Cool! So if I were to make a sprite sheet (say, Idle), how would I get it to an image file and to a sprite sheet?

You click "edit image," then find the save box and click it.

You click on the icon near the top of the screen that looks like a Pac Man.

This seems like it could have some potential. Could you us this as a spritesheet for me?

I'm not sure what I want the stats to be - maybe you can just choose something you think is good. I have an image you can maybe use as a character select icon:

Sounds like you know exactly what you're doing!

Anyways, yeah, I can use that. I'll figure the stats out on my own then.
