I want to see the enemies in this project, but the file needs to be opened in Office, and I don't have that. I'm really looking forward to this project, I showed the list of items to my one of my siblings, and he says he really wants to see it when it's finished. I'm not sure what you can do to help me, but if you find anything, it would be helpful.

If I hadn't had to restart tit the first time a last year it probably would be nearly finished now, however, it is currently in W1 development at this point in time. I'm experimenting with some mini-games and a Captain Toad based level at the moment, just for a little more unique spin on the standard Toad Houses.

Never really replied to this awesome project yet, woops!

This Project Looks very nice so far and I really like the whole construction you have done so far. I hope you won't reach the scenery Limit on the world map since for the first world it already fills up the entire area with sceneries except in the water. Even then, I can't see anything wrong so far as I can tell so I am looking Forward to this SMBX Project.

Now I did replied to it.

Small update to the character line-up. Utopia used to feature a character called "Shy Thief", an illusive Shy Guy Thief that would steal coins, items and the odd Star (Music Boxes now) throughout some levels. Catching him or finding him would result in getting the items back. Shy Thief would often clumsily leave a tell-tale trail of coins to his hideout too. However now, with a new concept I wanted to put in play, Shy Thief is being replaced by the more formidable (you'll hate me for this) Phanto Guy!

Image

Phanto Guy takes on the Shy Thief roll, however, also adds to the excitement/horror, because, if you nab back one of the Keys stolen... well, let's just say the Phanto part of his name comes into play very quickly. He'll summon a Magic Carpet and pursue the player(s). Bear in mind however, dropping the Key does nothing as the Phanto Guy is relentless. Phanto Guy is also indestructible as he is a spirit, so once he's after you, you'll need to find a quick exit. He'll follow you through doors, pipes and vases and even hang around in a Boss fight, making things particularly hairy. He'll disappear upon getting a Level Exit like the Goal Cards, so don't fear too much.

In-game, upon your first encounter with Phanto Guy, you'll get the back story on how he became Phanto Guy. He used to be a Giant Shy Guy after all...

Thanks JeffTheSpiny! The overworld music came from "The Great Empire" by Knux. No-one knows what real game it comes from though. As for Beta Testing, I think I do have a free spot, since one of the original Beta Testers left the community a while back.

Hmm, I'm worried... Won't you just be able to kill the Paratroopa replacements in each section with hammers? I like the concept but it sounds like it has holes. Hopefully you've found a way around it?

Also, I can't imagine it would be too hard to despawn that Phanto Thief, am I right?

You are right, though I am trying to find ways around it that don't rely heavily on Luna, otherwise it will start getting pretty messy. I had the idea of surrounding the Paratroopa replacements with blocks and setting the Hammers to noblockcollision=1, but I'm not sure it will work, plus it would make the Phanto Thief a little unbearable if it did. Thankfully he won't make regular appearances.

Wait, I think the despawning part might actually be fixed if you set his speed to, say, 1.5. He might have lower accuracy towards the player because of his increased lateral speed, but it would also make his AI that much more unpredictable. Can you test this?

If you're worried about the hammer part, maybe he can cast a spell on himself in some levels which makes him on fire. Basically attach a lava block to a friendly Chase AI. That might work too.

That could work, I'll have to test the speed idea to see if that works, but it does sound like it would work theoretically. I like the Hammer idea as well, and I sort of came up with the same concept only using a Jelectro or Muncher not too long ago. At least that way it wouldn't kill every other enemy it runs into. At least with PGE I could essentially make a re-sized Jelectro block with the Phanto Guy re-skin. I mean in worst case scenario I can always alter his description to fit with what I can achieve in SMBX.

General NPC used for making standard enemies chase the player. I never mentioned a Paratroopa but Deoxys got the hint.

I was asking since you are looking for beta testers! Most of the time, they have to give written details! I have difficulty doing that, but when I make a video, I do not have to remember every detail, and I can say what errors I find when I see them! I asked to do it wit Peach since I am best with her!
