User forums

This is something i don't understand, why do so many users on these forums have their own forums even though they get basically no activity and hardly any advertisement other than the creators signiture. These forums are always the same too, a thread for rules and ranks and a whole load of SMBX/hacking sub sections with no posts in them 98% of the time.
Most members of these forums usually get are around 10 which log in once and never again.

Some people just like being able to run their own little thing, and some of these have grown relatively large since.

People have a right to create their own forums if they want, I don't see why you find a reason to criticize people for that.

Eh, it's jet something people like to do. I did it once, and was wildly unsuccessful as many are. But sometimes, you have an original forums-Knux who really takes off. They can be good "backup" forums if SMBX.org is down either way.

They have a right, but that doesn't mean it's automatically fine. It just seems pointless to have a flood of smbx forum clones with nothing to make them unique and just exist for the sake of existence.

If Joey made me founder and admin right now, and left it there, I would be willing to delete my forum. (I leik admin)

And uh. I completely agree with OP. If you like having a group circle may I suggest Steam groups since those aren't really too blatantly obvious either way?

I rather have Joey as Admin then having someone as admin who doesn't ban someone who is stealing from others.

He wasn't criticizing people or saying they don't have the right. It's a completely legitimate point.

It's just because people want to have their own place, like Mivixion said, but they also want to be in control of it.
