The source code of SMBX isn't available as you cannot receive the VB6 code directly from its .exe file. Even if you could, I have heard that the code is incredibly messy and not worth messing with.
However, minor edits may be made through hex-editing, although SMBX releases made via this method will not be officially supported by SMBX.org.
