Don't mind me asking, but unless the Micky Dee's here have different menus to the ones in the US of A what exactly are Grilled Onion Cheddars? They sound mighty pleasing, but I've not seen nor heard of them before.
Hamburgers with grilled onions and cheddar cheese
Doesn't seem unhealthy at all. Mind you, if you order the right burgers, you could possibly manufacture a Grilled Onion Cheddar yourself... Might be too much trouble to got to though unless you really like them that much.

Mc'Ds in the US is greatly known for having a High-calorie, High-everything-bad-for-you. Except there Dollor Values there "ok" to have..Salads and/or Chicken&ranch Wraps
It actually is somewhat better to home make it(and maybe less expensive depending how much it was) than to drive/walk out to a local Mc D's

Actually, yeah, McD's is bad for you, that's a given, but it's not any better than any other foods we eat at any other given time, processed or not. Yes, it would be better if you didn't eat McD's all day every day, but it's called fast food for a reason, so if you need something quick, easy, cheap, and relatively nice tasting, I'm fairly certain a vast majority of first-world countries would take up fast food as opposed to making a healthier, homemade option.

Although I prefer homemade foods (hell, I've lived with that for most of my life anyway) and spend countless hours preparing delicious meals for myself and my family, I would honestly not pass up an opportunity to grab a quick bite at McD's or have pizza delivered to my house via Domino's. While I do enjoy the tastes of most fast foods or non-homemade foods, they aren't things I'd eat quite often, I'd probably only eat them when the need arises.

The only problem with fast food is that it's unhealthy of course, but it's also pretty tasty. That being said, while obesity is an epidemic in North America quite obviously, it doesn't help that the cheaper, faster, more unhealthy food takes less effort to acquire than a much healthier, homemade option would. While I'm all for healthier options, McD's has removed a lot of their options to conform to a "much healthier menu", these options include their signature Big Mac, their Large drink options (which makes their next drink size Medium, which even then is only slightly bigger than a Small), their pies (such as the Pumpkin and Apple pies), and among others, I'm fairly certain this also includes the Large fries. That's quite ridiculous, seeing as sometimes I go there just to get a Large fry, because sometimes I really crave that, removing the size variant doesn't really encourage healthier options, it encourages more spending. So in turn, they're not really all for healthier options, it's just a sham for them to make more money by having people buy additional items to suit the amount they desire.

I much prefer Wendy's to McD's anyhow, as their food items are objectively much tastier and much healthier (although not by much since it's fast food we're talking about here), their fries are a lot better in my opinion, and most of the time they come out fresher, the only thing that McD's has that Wendy's doesn't is a good, old fashioned milkshake, and since the Large variants have been removed from the menus of my local McD's (there being 3 that I can count across a 10 mile radius, all 3 being in my town), I can't just go there to grab a milkshake that would be worth my time and money. The reason I'd much rather a Large variant over, say, a Medium, is that, again, the Medium variant is just so much bigger than the Small by a hair, it's not worth the extra dollar or two. If I want a milkshake I'd want it to last me a while.

This is also another thing I enjoy about Wendy's. Their Large drink variants are, well, large. McD's Large drinks were pretty decent sized, but a Medium drink from Wendy's is the equivalent to a Large drink from McD's, maybe smaller by just a fraction, but it's about the same price as a Medium drink from McD's, which as I said before, is only a hair bigger than the Small drink variants. That being said, a Large drink from Wendy's is about double the size of their Medium drinks. This is pretty big, and can quench a pretty large thirst.

As much as fast food isn't healthy for you, there are times where I really crave something from there, be it a cheeseburger or a milkshake or some fries, eating something like that isn't going to instantly make me fat, so why take it off the menu entirely to conform to "healthier eating options"? The problem isn't the food itself, that's only a factor, the main problem is that those that become obese have no self control, and this can be the cause of many other things, one of the main ones I'd like to point out here is depression, because I've often found myself stuffing my face with food out of sheer depression, and I can't really explain it for some reason. People who become depressed will eat, and eat, and eat, and when they become obese, instead of taking responsibility and exercising and keeping their weight at bay, they are body shamed and thrown into depression again, this causes more eating and induces it as a habit, which is not good.

In the end, while fast food is certainly unhealthy for you, it's not exactly the one to blame and take away that causes obesity, it's mostly mental illness. I know somebody who is obese, and they ate because of depression, and they have depression because they have an abusive father. He has heart problems now, and he's only 17, is it the fast food we should directly blame and take away? That could only cause bigger problems. Sure, some cases of obesity aren't the result of depression, but there has to be some reason as to why people eat to that point.
