So how did you get in SMBX? And when did you get into it? Well here's my story..
It was June 2011 I think and I was looking for Super Mario stuff on the internet. So I googled Super Mario Bros then something weird came up. It was called Super Mario Bros X. I clicked it and saw the trailer and it was just awesome! So I decided to download it and from that day I've always played SMBX. So what's your story? Share it with is.

I first heard of SMBX when there was an SMBX sub-forum in a forum where I was registered back in 2010/11 (the forum has been shut down long ago), and I did look at a few topics there, but I didn't download SMBX back then.
I didn't hear anything about the game anymore for a while after that.
Then, one day, when I was watching YouTube videos, I came across the SMBX 1.3 trailer by Redigit. It looked so amazing that I searched for and downloaded the game right away. I think I started with 1.1 or something because that's what I found, later I downloaded 1.2.2, and in June 2012, I found 1.3 as well.
I even decided to join the old SMBX forums a while after that. I made a few posts in there before SuperMarioBrothers.org was shut down and taken over by Nintendo.

I merged your topic with the existing topic from the great beyond-beyond-ago, zlakerboy.
and to answer your question, I believe I got into it sometime in 2009 or 10 when I googled 'mario level editor' or something along the likes and was brought to supermariobrothers.org.

That's pretty much the same thing for me.

Back in 2010, I was looking for midi files to use in Mario Builder, then just happened to come across supermariobros.org. I clicked downloads out of curiosity and found SMBX. Loved it, joined the forums, and have been a member ever since. I' sure have come a long way.

By the time I was searching for some Editing stuff on the internet becuase I was pretty dang bored, and found Mario Builder. I've started to use it because I was fond on the editing stuff since I got to use many editing programs such as Game Maker and others. By the time I was sure I would get to use thtat program, that was until I found a video on YouTube about SMBX showing off a level, obviously made by the best SMBX level designer, Chad. When I found out about it I decided to join the community and start using SMBX. So that's pretty much how the story goes.

Don't make posts like this. If you don't know how you got into SMBX then why respond to a thread about it in the first place?

In late 2010, I was randomly searching around YouTube and conveniently I found this commentator I immediately got addicted to, therefore I watched a lot of their co-op let's plays. However, in 2011, they started uploading SMBX and it received tons of views, and I was one included. After watching them play The Invasion 2 by Redigit, I was anxious to play it myself, and at the time I was clueless that there was a level editor. Though, when I did discover that there actually was a level editor, I was even more perked up I intentionally skipped school that day to test it out. I accused myself of being sick. Regardless, I was grateful I got the game and just carried on with it.
In November of 2012, I just learned about whatever-the-hell-format-this-forum-has (I forgot) from a top forums website I searched since I was eager to make my own. I looked at all of its forums on another place, and in gaming found Cloud's Forum. Particularly, the logo caught my attention. I clicked on it and didn't regret so... When I first joined the community, I was incredibly immature (a lot of you have already heard this story but I shall retell it). I made one-sentence posts like, "Wow! That is one good graphic! *insert spammy smiley face here*," so yes, my nonconstructive days. I was at the time extraordinarily poor at my skills of designing, and as an instance spammed sizables and made a level that all you were doing were going to the end in a black background, no checkpoint, clashing NPCs, and made unfair death traps. I posted it to another forum (I will not share it and it was not an SMBX community but a general discussion forum), and it got 1/10. I was furious, and threw a big fit and got banned. I did not, however, post it on Cloud's Forum though for my own reasons.
I never got the opportunity to post any levels on Cloud's Forum, might I add.
Anyway, ever since I have learned how to properly act on a forum, and still gradually learning such (I always argue with the administrators *cry*). I've began to follow up with the new SMBX communities, and don't plan to leave until I die.
But by then SMBX will probably officially be dead.

In 2010, (I cannot remember what I was doing before I first heard of SMBX) I found "Play Super Mario Bros X" on that URL, I clicked on the link to download it, then it dericted me to SuperMarioBrothers.Org then I downloaded Super Mario Bros X and played the game and I actually really liked the game and the feature to make your own levels with the level editor and decided to have my life with that fangame.

Wanted to play Mario Flashgames. Found SuperMarioBrothers.Org. Shortly after downloaded Smbx. I later joined Cloud's Forum. A while after it shut down, I went to Smbx Revived. And when THAT shut down, I moved over to this forum. Also tried registering at Nsmbx, but for some reason it didn't send me the activation email.

-insert some long story about having a Mac, making SMF levels, waiting for my brother to hand down his Windows laptop, then installing SMBX the minute I got it, joining Knux's forum and getting hated for immaturity, crappy levels and MSPaint GFX, losing interest, getting into Minecraft, losing interest, joining NSMBX, getting banned, losing interest, coming back only to realize that Revived and NSMBX are shut down, finding this forum, etc, etc etc-

About a year ago, I stumbled upon as303298's and Chad's youtube channels. I was so impressed by the level editor in the videos I downloaded it and messed around with it for a while. Unfortunately, I was unaware of custom graphics and the SMBX Community. I eventually found out about custom graphics, but I was unaware that I had to use Paint.net and used paint. My custom gfx ended up looking like crap. I figured out that I was supposed to use Paint.net, so the graphics didn't look junky anymore. I also eventually joined Knux's forums, where I made my first real level and submitted it Community Contest 6 with the name of Goomba Tossin'. So that's about it, I guess.
