The trailer looked pretty sweet, but the plot seems a bit underdevelopped. That, and I hope They'll be able to make the human characters interesting as well.
Just because it was "made" by an entity other than Nintendo doesn't mean that the people that are actually behind it would be incompetent enough to mess up 80's Donkey Kong.
I'll be releasing the inner nerd when this comes out. Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Galaga, DK are there, so if there ain't Merio I'll be slightly disappointed. They seem to have pulled the stops with this though, I'm especially impressed with them getting Pac-Man's "father" into the movie as well, though the "Ghost" cars is kind of a bit of a let down. That seems a little corny in my opinion, because when they said Ghosts, I was expecting a giant Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde to go with the giant pixel Pac-Man.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Adam sometimes. I just don't think he was a good choice for the one of the main characters in this film. :/
I agree, I think Robin Williams would have been good in this movie, judging from the trailer alone.
Honestly this sounds like this would be one of those movies he did for money rather than passion that depressed him to begin with. Sure, "yay Nintendo" and all that but Robin doesn't fit either.
Robin named his daughter after a Nintendo character, so I think he'd probably have been down for the role.
I think he would've been a little too old for the main protagonist, though. Would've been good as a father figure or something (though definitely not to Adam Sandler).
Yes, that's true I guess but it's not the point. Adam Sandler was picked for a reason. If you watch his more recent movies like Grownups, Jack and Jill, and the sorts you get the common experience of bathroom humor and somewhat of a nostalgia factor. Based on that, that is what Adam is able to do and is known for which would be why he was casted for this which shows somewhat of the theme to what Pixels will be like and why it would be bad for Robin. I think the fact he named his daughter after Zelda would be even more devastating if he were able to take the roll and video games weren't well respected in the movie to be honest. I could be entirely wrong since I'm judging the film before it has come out, and basing my views on my impression of Adam and the trailer. It could be like Click which was a sci-fi film that I really enjoyed and Adam Sandler did very well in, imo.

Sony maybe don't will show any Mario element. As you can see in the trailer, in the first Donkey Kong scene, the screen don't shows Mario. Also, if there will be Mario debut or a dialog with the Mario in it, probably he will refereed has Jumpman, since less people knows that Jumpman is Mario's old name.
I think that Pitfall needs appears too, because Pitfall is also a classic. Also i didn't find any Tetris signal, and if they don't put Tetris on the movie, i will cry.
I have kind of mixed feeling for this movie. It looks awesome, but I don't know if Adam Sandler can pull this off. I like a lot of his movies, but him being in this movie doesn't seem fitting for some reason. I guess I'll have to watch the movie first to see what it's style is.
