Replying to the part about me evidently being a pessimist.

I'm not saying that every single slightly large to large forum will have drama day in and day out. I'm saying that no matter what, at least one point in time, there will be drama amongst the community.

So would that be realist then?

It's still rather negative thinking. Expecting it is not the same as being prepared for it.

I mean yeah, it's negative, but it still happens.

That does not mean you need to adapt a negative attitude about it.

Palisade was flipping out over the community drama.

There is no avoiding drama amongst a community, it doesn't happen. I don't have a negative attitude, I'm simply pointing out that you can't find a perfectly peaceful community where they'll be absolutely no instances of drama ever. It just doesn't happen, so therefore Palisade doesn't need to pull the "zomg this is just a mario forum, u gais are fighting for no reason on a mario forum" card.

With an attitude like that, there IS no avoiding drama.

I need this to stop happening. Some users I know for a fact don't want to start fights but would love to contribute to them. Reasons nor rationales don't apply to the user himself taking the action. Any justification is a good justification for being part of the drama.

Remember: the only winning move is not to play.

We're not trying to 100% get rid of any and all possible drama.

What we're trying to do is make this place a more mature community. The "it'll never happen" attitude does nothing but hinder our progress.

And might I ask what progress we've actually made?

I never said we'd never reach maturity but okay.

This is a mature community, trust me. Yeah there are those who do nothing but start a huge dramafest, but that isn't the majority. The community has a lot of very talented and mature individuals overall.

What progress do you think we've made?

No, seriously, I have to wonder how much of other people's posts you have actually read, because I'm just gonna go out and say it right now, it seems like you're still bent about this whole thing, even after most of the community has already apologized and made up.

Actually maybe if you read back to my original posts here you would know why.

I've already said that this seemed a little set up since you went from acting all bitter to going all sentimental and apologetic. Something still doesn't seem right here.

It is perfectly human to understand what you did wrong and apologize for it as a gesture of good faith against those you had to fight with. It's called showing respect.

This isn't forced in the slightest. Why do you think it was?

How much progress we made is irrelevant to the point I was making.

(reading DarkMatt's comment.) Uh huh......yes.....mmhum.......yep. Last time I check apologizing is showing respect to the other person and to reclaim someone's recently lost dignity. I don't know what everyone's complaining about, and I have already seen someone make fun of his apology.

I see one thing wrong. Your statement. He tried to apologize and you're pushing him away and you're not accepting it. Can you guys get along, please? I'm just speaking from a regular member's point of view here, but the last thing we need is a flame war between users and moderators.

Then read instead of bumping a thread that was by all means done.

Apologies and forgiveness does fall on deaf ears, superwhiteyoshi. I'm not going to have everyone explain this over again just because one person was under a rock during the whole thing.
