Having only been here for a short time since departing years ago, I can't help but notice how much negativity there is and how it's dismissed by the staff. What does that resolve?
I have been where most of you all are right now - teenagers. I assume the staff team are in their late teens and therefor they don't make rational decisions because they aren't in the peak of their maturity yet. Batter each other all you like but it won't change a thing, lol. Me and my pals used to run an internet forumz back in the day and it went to complete shit mostly because of our age and the way we acted. You won't get change because you're all 15 haha but maybe in a couple of years tho
If this wants to stay a facetious thread I'll keep it open, but if it devolves into "who should be administrator" then it'll be closed.
Why can't a community discuss and or decide potential candidates? That's called fascism.

As far as I'm aware, everyone on this forum is 16>, and age =/= maturity. We can get change if the users and the staff work together to actually change the community.

too bad that'll never happen mostly because the staff barely listen to the users, ever; nor do they do anything, ever 8'(

Agreed. Valtteri is away unfortunately due to some mandatory military service and wont be back until the summer or something. The other admins are just inactive or unhelpful. A lot of the moderation seems to be busy with real life too. Maybe nobody just really has the time to run the forum anymore.

Pretty much this, we got 1 active admin and two active mods. While I can ofc understand Valtteri's absence (and I mean, he is sometimes online on weekends), Quill and m4s seem to be online really rarely. Sometimes I also see DarkMatt pop up, but again, really rarely. Ignoritus is sometimes online but doesn't seem to moderate all that much and Kley is.. yeah.

Yeah, DarkMatt is busy with college and work and TNT is just busy with life. Kley has been gone for like 8 months now and still no word from HIM since Joey insists he is working "behind the scenes" despite being told several times by moderators that they see no actions from Kley in the mod logs.

According to Joey, inactive staff isn't a problem.

Just so y'all know, TNT and Ignoritus still appear fairly regularly in the moderator logs, though not as much as GhostHawk and I (I assume that we're the two active moderators that you mentioned).
There is a lot of inactive staff these days though, which is kind of unfortunate. I never see Valtteri, Quill, m4sterbr0s, Kley (who is definitely not doing behind the scenes work with any frequency as far as I can tell by the mod logs), or DarkMatt (well, less so, I still see him occasionally) do anything staffy these days.

How exactly is inactivity NOT a problem...?

the administration just needs a complete overhaul, the current administration is either literally never here or it's joey.
new administration would be legit because we could actually suggest stuff to be implemented, instead of the casual "hi guys we're suddenly implementing/removing this without any voice from the community on it its fine"

I think we need:
STAFF ELECTIONS!!! :DDDDDD
Seriously though, I think we all have an idea of who we think the ideal staff team is, so why not do this again?
btw i wasnt around when the first ones happened so idk how they went

staff elections are a great and a really shitty idea at the same time
the first elections were shit because everyone voted for blueoak and shit (but for some reason they also all voted for kley even though he actually wasnt even active back then), but the final descision was left to the admins, which is a good idea in paper, but the judges had like valtteri and joey, the former would vote for kley because they're pretty close friends and shit (seriously, if you try to argue that he doesnt go out of his way to help his friends, did u know deadfish has been unbanned by valtteri like 50 times from irc), and the latter thinks everyone who is a veteran is fit to manage the community or something.

If that's the case then why not give staff to the person with the most votes? Or, perhaps even better, the moderators could decide?

the person with the most votes just flat out winning the promotion is a really bad idea, at some point i'm pretty sure i was the top of the poll for a short period because friend memes, and if i actually got promoted that would've been a really bad thing, i'm a garbage moderator since i tolerate flaming, i cant help to be biased sometimes, and i dont actually do shit.
If the moderators were the main head of the final choice that would be better, some of the moderators's ideas are pretty different from eachother, which is a good thing since everyone wont be unanimously inclined towards someone.

Yeah I have to agree, while there are other problems in the community that need addressing, the first thing that should be dealt with and addressed should be the staff. More reliable staff would be efficient, considering we've been getting spammed for a while now, it would help to have extra hands on deck should anything ever happen with the current active moderator count, which is two.

Let's not discuss elections. The last one was poorly executed, and many votes were lost a few times. The reaction was also equally disappointing in my view. Also, friendly reminder the winner of the last popularity contest election was this guy:
I'm up for changing powers a bit, but until a serious plan for how to go about that is brought into focus, we can't really say or do much.

The problem is that we need more active/better staff, but Joey literally trusts nobody with those responsibilities because he's always a pessimist about the subject the many times I've talked to him about it. I'm not sure how we're going to get an actual serious plan into action and through to Joey because he seldom listens, I've offered my help and some suggestions and he's turned them down.
I think we're at a standstill!

Wow o.o
That's...a lot of lost topics.
But still, the staff here could use a makeover. Not that our staff is bad, you're all good at what you do. But most of you are also inactive.
I don't know how we'd go about this, but it needs to happen.

I feel like you guys are arguing for a "newer, better staff" without any reasoning other than "the other guys are inactive xd."
Why do we need another admin(s)?
Why do you want more mods?
