Living With Fibromyalgia

Postby EpicMCer61 » Thu Feb 05, 2015 9:45 pm

Fibromyalgia is a common syndrome in which a person has long-term, body-wide pain and tenderness in the joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia has also been linked to fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, depression, and anxiety. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 11 but was dealing with it at 6. It all started when my dad died and we moved to South Carolina :(
Seriously am I the only guy on the forums with this?!

Ouch. That sounds like a painful thing to have. I hope things turn out better for you.

Thanks Luigi, It's nice to have some people comment on this. And thank you for your concern. But sadly it gets worse over the years, but it helps to have support

Wow, that doesn't sound too nice. In times like this, you need all the supports from family and friends you can get. I hope it'll get better for you.

Ohhh... I hope you get better with the whole issues and pain you get around the days. It actually sounds horrible and it surely is sad after the whole Events of yours. Wish you good luck though!

Actually, it can't. It gets worse with age. However if you catch it early-on, it'll help you in the long run. I would know, I live with him.

Fibro is hard to live with, but with the right diet and meds you will feel fine, I'm thinking of doing Fibro Stories just to kinda give you guys an idea of what my day is like
So here is Fibro Story #1: I'm having a fibro flare day which is when the pain is x2 as more sensitive and painful, this kid pushes me I say "Lay off" His friend starts pushing me saying "Stop messing with him asshole!" Then the kid who pushed me earlier starts pushing me too, and I look for teachers, I look for my brother... nothing, then I came to the point where I hit the kid in the jaw, and both ran off (Sorry for the lateness, but we were waiting for the cafeteria doors to open) And later on I got suspended for 3 days and the kids who put me in a corner got no punishment, leave me your opinion about the Fibro Story, and if I should of got suspended.

PS.Thank You to all the people who have commented on this, It's amazing that there are people on this Forums Page that are so considerate to others. So again, thank you.

Wow dude...that's...rough.
I mean, you DID hit a kid in the jaw, so you probably should have been suspended, but the other kids provoked you so their punishment should have been worse. It sounds like people refused to help you, too :(

In the Fibro Story #1: I had my friend behind me when both these kids pushed me in a corner, and lets call him Steve (I don't want to give info out...) STEVE was standing behind me and it didn't help that I had him staring up at me just looking at me telling me "Don't do it dude..." But I was in pain that day, I felt like a was getting stabbed with daggers, so I hit him... I didn't say this in my Fibro story because I had around 5 minutes to write it. SOOOOOOOOooooo Basically I was in a corner, best friend right behind me ("Steve" is Mormon so he doesn't like fighting at ALL) But my arm had this.... tingle, just my body telling me to make it stop, hit HIM. And I did it. Another thing they were saying "What you gonna do about it" and in my mind I was like "This is what I'm going to do about it!" and at that moment Steve looked at me and said "You did the right thing" and I was happy about it. After the fact I went home, took 2 Advils, and I was asleep by 2:40 (I get out of school at 2:20)
This story is crazy to me, but after I hit him, they took me into a room, and at the end of the day people were walking in there to talk to the principle, and my other friend "George" came in the room and said "Dude, good job nailing him you did the right thing" So before I went home 3 other people walked in there and said "Good job"", "You did the right thing", and I was happy after that.

Kendall's message of the day: "I don't find fights, fights find me..."

The school knows about my condition so just because that information, those 2 kids should of been punished... but nothing really happened in my favor in that little situation. And here is another cool/not fun story that was about 3 years ago in 4th grade: Fibro Story #2: Story set: Playground, Recess, about the same time we just moved to SC. I am on the playground playing tag with 5 of my good friends and this day we let 1 5th grader play with us, this girl ends up running into me (This is when I had Fibromyalgia but the doctors kept saying "It's growing pains") and when I fall, the 5th grader was it. He kicks my head and says your it and he takes my shoe and throws it at me. I get up and say "You fucking bastard" and I start chasing him and he has a buddy tackle me as I get up and I get up, start chasing him, catch up, tackle HIM, then I beat the shit out of him against the fence... I got in ISS and he got no punishment..... AGAIN it seems to be a pattern in school. One guy hits me, I hit him back, I get suspended, no punishment for the bully........ CCSD is jacked up.

Well.. hit someone isn't that good to do, same with beat the shit out of him. I understand what you going through, but it's never good to hit someone back, even if they did it to you there are better ways for this. Don't get me wrong like i said i understand how you feel..

I do agree that I shouldn't of hit him more than once... but the dude is messing with a kid that has delt with more in life than some 30 yr old grown adults... And all these fibro stories are all (so far) on "Fibro Flare" days.

The kids at your school probably don't know how serious your problem is. How old are you?

If this happens a lot then you should try talking to your parents and seeing if you can move to a different (and better) district.
