It is very inconsiderate for those who speak another language, and this is why we should have sections of the forums dedicated to other languages."
That's it. That's all he was banned for. He was an enthusiastic user who didn't "break" anything else but apparently not enough for Joey.
I dont think this thread was meant for complaints about things Joey did. Also, have a look at illias' posting history. "Cool" "awesome job" "knux banned me should I ban him" and more. When did you draw the conclusion that Ilias was banned because of his grammar?

So you're saying the very first rule on our forums isn't a rule?
Either way, I'm not entertaining this discussion in this thread. Stop talking about illias3000.

I rarely see you moderate anymore, sure you pop in every now and then but you have been very inactive lately.

I mean, it's not like there's much for the admins to do right now.

I've seen complaints about the medals not getting done fast enough, maybe get them to work on that?

The problem with medals is that they'll be removed (along with rep, unless we remove that sooner) once we upgrade the forums to the new version of phpBB.

Why don't you add them now, then save backups of the medals and who has them in a .txt file or a Google Document? That at least provides something productive for the admins to do.

When are we upgrading?

Upgrading requires me to rebuild the entire SMBX theme from scratch. We will upgrade when I finish doing that, but I don't know when that'll be. Building the current SMBX theme took me a couple of weeks, but that wasn't quite from scratch - I regenerated some of Redigit's CSS data (link colors, font sizes, etc.), but then I remember redoing most of the CSS anyway.
So...maybe a month? I don't know.

Being able to build a phpBB style is not something I look for in administrators, nor is it part of the job description.

I currently use the subsilver2 theme as the normal SMBX theme isn't appealing to me. Will you add other Mario-related board styles as time goes on?

Nor is it something other admins can do; the board owner has to do it.
You're gonna hate me for asking this, but what do the admins do that the mods don't?

Admins have access to the admin control panel (aka board features and setups). They can add usergroups, forums, etc. Though, there aren't a lot of things of that nature that need to be done in the first place, so yeah.

They have more jurisdiction, and higher power. They're above the mods and are superior (I know this sounds pretty bold but it is true).
Also, as FallingSnow said, they have access to the ACP.

Any admin can set up styles, but only admins have permissions to do more than moderate discussions and do things such as this. Also, I think discussing styles is beside the point of having other admins. In my view there has to be activity as we discussed, competency, and timeliness in performing tasks only admins have permission to do. Having heightened power in the hands of people who use it for the good of the community to, as an example, prune the spam bots we just got today. All I can do is just ban them and have them exist in our members database with the other spam bots from previous attacks that have yet to be cleared out. I've asked more than once to have higher permissions on IRC so I could take care of spam when the network is too vulnerable, and the spam bots that just joined are discouraging to the hope that I wouldn't need to ask for the same permissions on the forums to keep everything under control. It's honestly kind of silly to discuss this while the admins in question aren't even able to comment because of their other obligations and it seems irrational that they shouldn't be replaced even temporarily.

At least from my experience on NSMBX, the founder is indeed the only person who can set up board styles. This might vary from forum to forum, but I'm pretty sure DarkMatt is right about that. Just so you know.

Actually, while normal admins can't edit the board style by default, you can change their permissions to allow it.

GhostHawk has a Nazi avatar again.
Such a mature community!
And before you deny it, it has part of a Swastika and most importantly it has the logo of the SS

And what is the immediate problem of this again...? Besides being offensive in the slightest, I've seen much worse avatars (not implying his avatar is bad in the first place).
Also I would like to see more activity from the administrators. Valtteri is on leave, Quill and masterbr0s are almost never on, and Joey is either busy with other things, not ever on, or just won't do things that need to be done in the first place. I'd like to see the member list cleaned up significantly, like the pruning of all of the spam bots and dead accounts. I would also like to see the IRC moved to a more reliable network that isn't actually dead, I don't care which one it is, the IRC just needs to be moved to some place where the staff aren't dead.
My suggestions would be to get more active staff members. I'm going to bring this up again, but Joey has said countless times he wants the forum to be as best as can be, and one of the first steps to doing that would be to replace some of the lesser-active staff members with more active ones, mostly to make the forum more presentable. Lets use Kley as an example; he isn't active, he does nothing as a moderator, why still have him as a moderator? You have enough of them anyway.
